jesus thats a model and a half and thanks for the kind words atm I'm still trying to learn the ins and outs of modelling I was a skin maker a while back so I have a little experience going into this but I think i got a while before I can approach that masterpiece i mean jeeze its so spot on I love it I wanted to ask as well if you use tabula and if so is there anyway to give the texture map more room to work with?
I actually use the offline version of Techne to make my models. It allows you to set the size of the texture you want to use for your project. I usually set it at something like 256 x 128, just for the sake of being prepared, but that was actually a bit much in this case. I expected it to take up at least as much room as my arm cannon texture did, but I've figured out a few space-saving tricks since then.
Also, you could PM me if you want some tips on model-making. I would gladly help you with what I know.
As to the idea of giving you the model, FirEmerald, I'll do that once I get on my laptop later today. Going to work earlier than usual, so I won't have time just now. I imagine a "use fancy model" option would be good for people with higher-end rigs, who want to use the more graphics-intensive models I tend to make.

Thanks. Also some sad news for your arm cannon model: I might be overhauling it with a less blocky, but higher-quality and less intensive, model, if the polls after the next update show it is wanted. I can model things myself, I just can't model BLOCKS. They elude me.
it crunched down to fit onto the player model it looks like, the joint texture between the torso and legs is almost completely gone and the knee spikes were further apart. I think we may need a model mod or something for it to fit right. if memory serves alot of mods with 3d armor have something like project superhuman has a player model altering mod same with superheroes unlimited they both sport 3d armor

I'd rather not try to change the default player model just to make the armor fit.
Yeah, there's some big-time crunching going on with that model, and a few of the parts are actually completely out of position or have their texture mismatched. I may have to get into coding models with some other method, because if this is how Techne spits out models for Minecraft right now...yikes. Now I see what VoidChimera meant when he said my Arm Cannon had some issues...
can't blame you from what i heard thats a huge pain
You shouldn't have to. I'm not certain how, but you can add custom renderers to armor. You could use that to properly resize it to fit the player model, I'd talk to MachineMaiden about that, myself. Modular Power Suits seems to be the best possible proxy you'd need to figure out how to set up such a renderer.
Version 0.3B Preview 2 is out now. This is the last time I announce the release of a preview version - all subsequent previews will be a simple update to the forum post and title.

I did. That's what you were seeing.
I made a new varia model. I'll look into the problem you were telling me about thats unsettling

If that's the case, you need to set it so it doesn't multiply all armor vertices by 110%. That's what it does with Vanilla armor, to make it larger than the player model. I'm not sure how that would work, but if anything, maybe you can set it up to have a smaller than normal size, so the multiplier would grow it back to normal.

beautiful! too bad the arm cannons hilariously misproportioned XD.
I've been thinking about that. Would it be possible to set up a custom render for the arm cannon that goes beyond just using that model? I think rotating it downward 90 degrees, so that it runs parallel with the arm would be good, and downsizing it a ways would work well.
Actually, as I recall, I told VoidChimera that it needed shrunk to 90% default length to look right, and he didn't get around to doing that...
Edit: Also, I may make a new model for the Arm Cannon within the next couple of weeks. Now that I'm in the modding mood, I may as well touch up an old creation, right? I think the new idea I have in mind will be a pleasant surprise.
I've modified the arm cannon rendering to be smaller, face the same direction as the arm, point the arm in the direction the player is looking (as if they were drawing a bow back), and use the icon when placed in item frames or in the world.

Oh my lord that is beautiful....a bit of tweaking of the proportions to get it to wrap properly around the arm, and it would be perfect. o.o
so I was thinking do you think maybe we could add some Zero Suit stuff? mainly concerning the paralyzer pistol as a cheaper weapon to make combat easier by stunning mobs for a kill until the player can get the power beam maybe a zero suit even though the normal minecraft armor would probably be just as good

Items specific to 2D games, such as the Fusion suits and the Zero Suit, may be released later on as 'stand-alone add-ons' - mods that do not DEPEND on this mod, but will still be able to incorporate the features of it, if it is also used. I've been working on an API for such a thing; the API will be made available upon the first official 0.3B release.

It feels bulky.

That looks pretty good, although I do not do to well in modeling. but I will tell you that ,looks better then the original one.

should be easy to retexture this into the gravity and phazon suits
