Every living thing that has ever existed eventually died. On the one hand, some have managed to evolve, and have continued to live in another way. On the other hand, other creatures have not survived, and went extinct. Some of the most impressive creatures went extinct. Creatures that we want to be back!
De-extinction mod is a Minecraft mod that provides everything you need to bring extinct species back to life. You have to explore caves, gather fossil, study them, and finally clone what you want.
Well, that is not an easy task. DNA cannot survive for a long time, and, even if it did, it would be a complete mess. So, how can we manage to clone an extinct creature? De-extinction! Extinction creatures are somehow still alive, coded in the DNA of every cell of their relatives. We just have to undo or redo evolution. In other words, why shouldn’t we create a velociraptor from a chicken?
How to research an extinction creature?
First, you need a genetic research table, which is your workspace to create these creatures. Next, you need to research, at least 50%, of the creature closest relative’s DNA. If you want a dodo, for example, you should start researching chickens. When you gathered 50% of the chicken DNA, you can start researching the Dodo DNA. If you have 50% of the DNA researched, you can now make your Dodo!
How to clone an extinction creature?
In order to clone a creature, you need at least 50% of the DNA studied as well as 50% of the DNA from its closest relative. You also need some nutrients to make an embryo of you creature. The last thing you need is a container for you embryo. I can be an eggshell or a syringe, depending on how the creature is born.
Is there any variation or control when cloning?
Yes, there is! If you have your DNA researched, you can decide if your creature is a male or female. In addition, the more you research, the more features you can unlock.
What is missing?
We are in search of new modelers and texturers. This mod aims realism and scientifically accurate models; however, it can also support a little bit of fantasy, such as turning of the feathers if you have you DNA completed. If you are willing to help this mod with your talent, please send me a private message. I would appreciate any help. A basic prerelease genetic tree can be seen in the image section.

Egg nests (recipe: a 'boat of sticks') are required to hatch eggs. They are affected by the environment, such as natural or artificial light and water. It's efficiency depends on how warm it actually is. It is possible to check the temperature of the egg nest by using a water thermometer (recipe: gold nugget + bottle of water). You can also add leaves to increase its efficiency, keeping it warm. Warmer egg nests will hatch eggs faster than cooler ones.
Genetic Research Station is used to research the creature DNA. You have to select a creature, add its item and hit the "Start Research" button. You can only cultivate an embryo if the creature was 50% of its DNA researched. To cultivate an embryo, you need a container, which can be an eggshell or syringe (depending on the creature), and nutrients, which are obtained from foods. Some textures require higher research to be made.
Genetic Tree that is planned right now. It includes some close relatives of chickens. The next branch would be the horse DNA.

good idea, but its been done before. You can't really be original with the idea of dinosaurs in general in minecraft anymore
Well, that is true, I agree with you. There are lots of dinosaur mods out there, but I don't see any mod that has done deextinction before. They basically work by getting specific items from different animals. They don't have challenges to do that, apart from mining.
In this mod, the player have to follow the boundaries that nature created. He or she cannot create a triceratops, or even a velociraptor, from scratch... there will be a pretty long way to do that.

Actually yes you can. Because this concept is brilliant. And it basically features the De-Evolving of a mob for now it seems, being the chicken. Imagine if they did this for more of the vanilla mobs. All of them, perhaps. Doing research on cows, how they evolved into what they are now, the species they were in between, and supported all those. And lets not forget that theres also mobs in MC that dont actually exist in RL. So Slimes. They could actually set up a full De-Evolve path for slimes. Maybe slimes once used to creep instead of jump? Maybe once they had bones? Maybe they lived underwater? I am eager to know. And the gui they have looks amazing (tho the block gui constantly changing its layout might be an issue at some point. How about you make it tab based, similar to the creative inventory? That could probably help).
The other Dinosaur mods work like so: you either just simply find Dinosaurs in your map. Or you find fossils and have to kind of research those and then they just magically spawn. Or you have to go into a specific dimension in order to find them. Or you find dinosaur eggs and have to breed them. But the way that this works is unique from what I have seen. Keep this up!! I want to see this make an impact on mob modding some day, raising the bar of genetic research mods. And this is definitely a good start.

Not the way of obtaining them, I meant the style of the models and textures.

It is desirable that the models are parented. I would recommend Tabula.
