Hello there! Welcome to the Stem Mod forum page! As young developers for Barnabas Robotics, we are here to bring you the future of interactive educational Minecraft. Find out more about Barnabas Robotics here! For more information about our mod scroll down!
Our goal, as the Barnabas Robotics Development (BRD, pronounced bird) team, is to have people gain interest in the STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) fields and have them continue to build upon it through the use of Minecraft.
The Stem Mod enhances Minecraft by adding in robots with realistic construction and capabilities. The goal of the mod is to introduce people to STEM (Science, technology, engineering, and math), through Minecraft, an affordable and accessible platform.
This WIP mod will add a variety of realistic items and blocks, which the player can use to construct their robot. This mod also provides realistic voltages, AC and DC power, and batteries.
Q: What functions do you have planned?
A: Great question! We have decided to bring a majority of realistic ores, objects, factories and more into Minecraft. They will all tie into the player's creations of robots, computers and more in Minecraft!
Q:Do you need any pre-known experiences with STEM?
A: No! The reason why is that our objective is to allow students and anyone else to learn and become well experienced in STEM fields and to be used in real life!
Q:Will it be multiplayer compatible?
A: In fact yes! The reason for it to be multiplayer compatible is so that schools can create servers for students to interact and help one another on their STEM journey!
Q:When will it be released?
A: Sadly, this mod is still a WIP because the development has just started a few weeks ago. However, if there is a community building, we will keep updating on its progress on this forum page!
Q:How can I help with the development?
A: Easy! Just tell help by spreading the word and giving us feedback about things you want to see implemented into the mod! Help us build a community of like-minded individuals that wants to make Minecraft more than just a game!

I will definitely keep my eyes on this. You had me at "bring engineering to minecraft" computercraftedu brought programming to minecraft so having these two mods would be really cool!
I've also got to say I commend your intentions, I think Minecraft has the potential to be a fantastic teaching tool.
What kind of functions do you have planned? I'd imagine a lot of the logic would be being created by the players themselves, yes? Will the robots be autonomous or just run a simple loop?

Hello!
I want to first start off by saying thank you for your interest in our mod! Additionally, the nice comment you left for us! We have added a nice FAQ section in hopes that some of your questions have been answered. Additionally, the robots that the players created will be either mount-able and can be run autonomously or in a loop. The goal is not to create something that runs in a loop but to attempt to spark interest in the players in the fields of STEM.
