Vampires are fast, strong and blood-thirsty entities, which do not like the sun, but don't fear the night, and the best thing is: You can become one!
This mod adds several rituals which allow you to first become a vampire and then level up as a vampire, with higher levels you will get faster, stronger, better night vision etc, but it brings disadvantages with it, you take sun damage or are hunted by vampire hunters. By performing special rituals you can become a more skilled vampire and gain special skills like "Bat transformation" or "Revive the fallen".
As a vampire you don't need to eat all that dry bread or eat these strange fruits called "apples", you prefer some red and tasty blood, which you have to suck from animals or better villagers, but be careful not every animal likes to give blood.
This is a rewrite of the MC1.7.10 version of Vampirism.
This version is work in progress and does not contain all features of the version for MC 1.7.10 although it already has some additional ones like becoming a Vampire Hunter.

Hunter Skills:
The latest version finally brings some hunter skills. You can decide between a "weapon/blacksmith" and a "alchemy" direction. The first allows you to craft stonger weapons which do extra/special damage to vampires including several crossbows. The second one allows you to abuse the blood of vampires to give you some special effects, but be careful they might not always be good.
There are still more things to come (especially more melee weapons and armor), but I think there is enough available so it's worth becoming a Vampire Hunter. For more information checkout the wiki.
Please give me feedback on the skills and particulary on the balancing of those.
Minecraft 1.10:
The latest version is available for both 1.10 and 1.9, in the future there probably will only be 1.10 versions, but I might to some more parallel releases for now.
Keep in mind that I won't answer to all post, since I don't have enough time.

I've got a few ideas-
Wolves-Attempting to drink wolves' blood will have a 30% chance to change them into a werewolf. They a faster,stronger but try to attack you! You can tame them with an item(vampirebone?) and they will join you! They also have a 1% chance to spawn in the place of a wolf and instead of hunting sheep they hunt vampires/villagers. The change into normal wolves/villagers during the day but still follow you.
Bats-Vampires can turn into bats to get a slight immunity to sun damage for a short time, while in this form you are immune to sun damage for a short time. You may also tame or recruit bats in this form by giving them an item(bloodbottle?) and they will follow you, fight for you and fly with you.
Villagers-When to many villagers die, a group of vampire hunters/villagers with pitchforks and torches will try to find you. They won't stop untill you stop drinking blood for a few minecraft days or until you are dead.
Blood-Implement that drinking animal blood just gives your normal human speed and strength with the disadvantage of being weak to sunlight to give vampires the urge to drink human blood.
Wow what a lovely mod! I have some ideas for it! How about garlic is a new crop that grows in the wild and then you can start growing it. Garlic can be made into garlic essence which can be crafted with a torch into a Vampire Repelling Torch that damages all vampires within 5 blocks of the torch. Also, you could craft a coffin, which can be used to sleep through the day in. Also you could make a new biome called the Vampiric Forest full of vampiric mobs and creepy flora! I hope you will consider my ideas and good luck! Downloading mod for my mod pack now.
Also holy water which will act like lava to vampires.

We had the idea that these vampire versions of mobs could act like tamed mobs, I do not really like the "zombifiying" together with vampires, but we could maybe add a chance that they die.
We tested the fire damage, but decided that this is too annoying, instead we have direct damage, which stops when you are in the shadows.

sorry for not specifying correctly, is because the strength buff only works with weapons I think would be cool to make the punch stronger, and I thinked there was a way to make it stronger in the config, but yeah some sort of claw/bite attack would be better
@Proeliatorus me might consider some special weapons. The sleeping point sounds good, we will implement it of this kind. Turning villager into undead servants also sounds good, we will consider that

Thanks for the suggestions , a few questions and notes on them:
1. "Give texture to all mobs" I think we are only missing a texture for the vampire version of villagers, all other mobs either have one or cannot be bitten, or do you mean something else?
2. We already have nightvision, speed and jump boost, health and strength improvement, we are planning a special melee attack. Do you have more suggestions?
3. We are working on more levels than the 4 implemented. Any more detailled suggestion how much the blood consumption should be lowered?

That's a cool idea. You go back to human in a village church.
BTW, this mod, like a lot of mods that add structures and change significant aspects of gameplay are best played with a new forge profile, since they will affect any game played in the profile with the mod installed.
