golfcart :)?
with two laserbeam attachments at the top :D? so i can shoot/run into/over zombies with it :o? and ooohhh ohhh some of that nitro stuff. annnnnnnddddddddddddd, i would like it to shoot the red turtle shells from mariokart, cuz those things are op. and it could have a ground burst thing where it jumps up a little and sends air wooshing out from underneath it.
and when you drive it into lava it transforms into a small submarine missile lookin thing where the player is inside.
then you can cruise around in lava inside of a missile with a little window.....
mannnnn that would be sweeeet.
or how bout one of those orb vehicles from the new jerrasic park. roll around in a glass ball in your minecraft world.
a utility vehicle/golf cart would be a good idea. also an under water recovery vehicle would be a cool addition. to increase the tractor`s versatility, there could be a loader attachment. I thought also a hydraulic track drill with cement injecting abilities would be cool too. it is used in the real world to stabilize rock in tunnels and raise sinking structures. believe it or not this was used in an attempt in 1995 to inject cement under the leaning tower or pisa! in Minecraft it could be used to fill in caverns normally full of lava in under ground mining so players could get precious resources. it should have a cement inventory that requires cement to inject not to drill. like in the real world, cement is corrosive and should take away some hearts it contact is made.

With great power comes great electricity bill.
Found a bug with the combine That I think I squashed today.
Before it would break the crops and "Eat" the drops sometimes... It should actually pick it up in its inventory now or you should receive it in yours as you drive over the items.
Here is to me being able to eat again on the test server !.. updating it now!

it would work better if it went into the machine inventory as the players inventory will have tons of stuff in it. also i was watch this old show called american loggers. it contained a lot of heavy logging machinery in it. in forestry, a feller buncher and log skidder would be cool.

I agree. The combine will pick up items but if the player has inventory room they are close enough to the drops that they will also pick up some of the drops. If the players inventory was full then the combine will still pick it up. The reverse is also true once the combine's inventory is full the player can continue to pick up items. So the way it is now it's the best of both worlds... That said I my have to tweak the combine's area its looking for drops to make it a little bigger so it will have priority over the player in most cases.

Is the combine like a vacuum cleaner? if you placed several near a rock face, then detonated the rock face so that debris went flying, would the stationary combines pick up the debris?
Kind of.. several of my machines , Combine, Loader & Dump truck to name a few have an area (a box) it is checking for item entities for.
If it finds any item entity in that box it will pick it up and put it in the machine's inventory if it has free room in its inventory.
So to answer your question yes you could put down a series of machines to pick up the items that fall into the machines bounding boxes. But the blasted stone falls as a block not an item. So it would only work the items it drops not the falling blocks.

using combines would not be practical because of a couple of factors.
Number 1 the blasted stone actually needs to be Broken using a dozer, excavator or loader. Then the blasted rubble is converted into an item entity which the machine can pick up. A combine can break and convert plantables into item entity's but it cannot break and convert gravity effected blocks or normal blocks into item entity's.
Number 2 on a server a lack of combines in the fields would make large scale farming hard to do without time consuming red stone farming machinery. This would limit the amount and variety of crops that can be farmed.
Number 3 the blast doesn't convert all blocks into blasted variations of blocks. The combine would only pick up these since it cannot recognize the ability to break and convert blocks to item entity's.
number 4 wouldn't putting a combine that close to a rock face damage it?

#1 Correct.
#2 hun? combines were made to harvest large fields easier and it can be mixed crops & the crops do not need to be all full grown. It only harvest fully mature crops.
#3 yes there are a few blocks that cant be blasted that are dropped as items along with some blasted blocks that fall from various positions sometimes they collide & 1 will turn into a drop instead of a block.
#4 I don't think so. I haven't tested but the machines don't have health right now.

oh. maybe the machines could have realistic health. roll down a hill for example if the operator was carelessly driving on or around a slope. another idea is if the machine takes too much damage than it will not operate even if you refuel it like real machines.

I don't know about that. It's always fun to go on a bulldozing rampage without taking damage or breaking the machine.

well it would be much better for survival servers with limited resources as they would need new resources after the machine broke. also I will open up an under ground mine to save fields for cattle feeding when I get the mod.

Another idea: maybe a wrecking ball crane for demolition. I saw one of your previous dev streams and you said it would be hard to code momentum. Maybe the wrecking ball could turn stone and only rock based materials into perhaps, blasted stone, blasted variations of ores and blasted brick which would have gravity equivalent to blasted stone. Then players would use the loader to scoop up the rubble and deposite it into a dump truck. This would beat the following demolition methods:
Swinging a pick axe at a gigantic cactus farm,
blowing up a tower with enough tnt to blast a hole to bed rock through a mountain,
filling a mansion with 50 million creepers,
and the last one, lighting a wool building on fire.

Added a prototype for a grader the other day... it will be used to flatten land by taking off the high spots and "pushing" the dirt to the low spots and dropping it in.

A grader sounds awesome! Will it be able to adjust the blade like on a real grader?

Just wondering how to update the version of forge being used for a mod in eclipse. I have the 1.8 version currently with my mod but I'm interested in using the new 1.8.8 version of forge when I start progress again. I'm not entirely sure how to do this so I thought I would ask you.

I also have a question. What programs or applications are needed to download this mod?

No, it will be off /on only. Setting an angle would be too complex for the functionality it adds.

I actually backed off of 1.8.8 for now they didn't have all the mappings done I was using. I may try again once they have those mappings in.
Now that said first back up your code !!!!!
Then it should be downloading the new forge and replacing your gradle folder and build.gradle files and updating the new build.gradle for your mod. Then you can run gradle for setupDecompWorkspace again to get the latest mcp mappings and forge dependencies that are defined in the newer build.gradle file. Then run gradle again to setup your IDE. In my case it's gradlew Eclipse .
Finnaly the hard part of finding all the errors and bugs it will cause in the code and fixing them.
Good luck !
BTW what's the mod ?

You need to know programming its not automatic. That said Eclipse and forge source /mdk
Having started with 1.7 and ported to 1.8 it will not be easy to do there were a lot of changes. Plus I've added a lot of things to the mod since 1.8 some of them were not in 1.7 so there is no way to back port those parts.
Finally I'm no where near done with this mod so I'll be adding and changing things all the time.
Edit for phone auto in-crorrectness
