It's the modeling software I prefer because I've been learning it for years and its free & Open source.
Its not the software that most MC modders use, instead they use techne but i found it very limiting in what i could do, again because of my experience with Blender3D. I had to ported the Advanced Model Loader from a previous version of forge into 1.8 in order to get it to load the .obj files i export my blender files to.
In order to work with my mod's moddels it would need to be done in Blender3D , I have the .blend files included on my github repo.

not one block, a lot of blocks. I imagine it would go something like; build a lifting platform that has a spot in the middle top for the crane to attach its hook. On the platform will be everything that you would want to lift, raw materials, chests, etc ..., then depending on the strength of the crane the platform can be lifted and placed elsewhere based on the range of the arm.
The excavator, shouldn't it have a bucket scoop on it? Like all of these do? Link Removed
Some suggestions:
paver or asphalt spreader and steam roller for building roads
salt truck or snow plow to clear snow (maybe pack snow layers into blocks ahead of the plow, then move the blocks ahead and pile them up as the plow pushes forward to form snow banks)
logging equipment (clamp to trunk, cut leaving stump, lift whole tree above cut point (you could use the MovingWorld API to handle moving the tree around), use another machine to strip off leaves and cut the trunk into manageable lengths, then load the trunk onto a flatbed truck and tie it down, sawmill cuts trunks into long runs of planks for rapid construction)
construction equipment (drill/post hole digger, pile driver, crane, cement mixer, ... construct large buildings quickly by lifting logs/beams into place)
hey techstack, I love your mod! it is perfect for construction, agriculture and mining in minecraft! I saw one of you videos on youtube of you showing the screener and the new machines in the mod.
you said that you may make a tower crane in the future and I think that is a great idea to do!

I want to help with texturing for this, the textures in it now are alright but need more detail... I read through the forum here i see you have multiple other "Maybes" for this so i don't know if you have this covered, either way ill try to produce something out of blender (cause that's where the model files are. even though I have never used blender before) . Minecraft mostly has simple textures so i was planning on something simple (but not as simple as they are right now)

A great mod to go with this would change world generation to make ores form in veins. (I dont know if there is a 1.8 one yet but soon there will be if not). So that the machines can help you find the veins faster.
How I see it:
They should have a more metallic look like the iron blocks. Then paint would be added on afterwards of the various minecraft dyes, (for all vehicles of course) this way they start out looking like iron blocks with original texture (Except the tires, i think... unless they start off green and get dyed idk(it would be easier to just leave them Black ) ,get dyed so you can have a nice magenta tractor or red, green, blue and so on. The texture for dyed vehicles could be iron blocks that looked painted that colour. (Painted cause you don't dye metals)
I'll Attempt something let me,know if you don't already have someone for this. Also it took me about two hours to figure out blender (Some what at least) so i can be producing something while you read this. I'm on summer vacation right now so I pretty much have all day every day to do this.
will you will add a paint recipe or just leave it as a dye both work? (Bucket of Water With Slime ball and dye)(or Bucket of milk with Dye) Shapeless Recipe, And Maybe a paint brush to apply with S=Stick W=Wheat St= String X=Blank

Something like that wheat ( or maybe wheat block) could be wool, one stick not two.. recipes are up to you, these are just my suggestion. (So then all vehicles would have many textures, I think the painting part should be pretty simple for you (although i may be wrong) just take a vehicle a brush and some paint in a crafting box as a shapeless recipe to paint them. Or in world painting Shift-right click on a vehicle with a coated paint brush which then removes paint from brush and paints vehicle. (this option sounds harder but cooler).
Painting/Dying could also be a inventory slot in the Vehicles where the colour is added into and the vehicle will stay that colour as long as something is in that slot if empty = Default Grey
Also what do you think about the sounds for this will it be realistic engines with loud roars and such (these are heavy machinery after all) or something softer. Personally I'd prefer the loud realistic ones, its not as loud to the driver as to people on the out side of the cab depending if the vehicle has a cab or not.
Maybe you can also make keys for your vehicle so no one can drive it off on you, and i feel once the vehicle is place you should not be able to just shift right click it to pick it up. (you can't get it back into a item) Making uses for cranes and that wide bed truck in there.
I know some of this stuff is far off from being implemented, but also maybe durability on the vehicle along with fuel usage. Once the durability reaches zero the vehicle breaks down and needs repairs, probably by a repair kit or something similar. (increasing the need for the crane and wide bed truck) since one block is one meter and 1000 meters is a kilometer lets say around 100 kilometers to breaking down (I know this is a small amount but this should vary for vehicle). So 100km is 100 000 meters which is 100 000 blocks either traveled, or mined(or both causing machines other than the flat bed truck and crane to break down quicker due to being worked harder). Creating a need for the flat bed truck and crane (When crane is implemented if it is going to be)
You can always carry fuel to your vehicle but you cant carry your broke down vehicle to a repair station. The break downs could have randomized severity, sometimes you can use your portable repair kit. and sometimes you need to tow your vehicle to a machine shop. Cranes could also be used to save your poor machines that are in the water.
Boats...(Cargo, Submarines, Submarine Miners...)
Functional Headlights (when on more fuel usage) provides lights in front of vehicle. Some other form of lighting large areas, Flood Lights that take fuel to light up large work areas. (they would have generators built in on them sort of thing)

Maybe the texture could be different on components on the machinery. For example, the engine on the loader would be grey and the shock absorbers could be yellow like the real world. Also the fertilizer spreader on the current tractor could look like it is semi transparent like the real fertilizer drums in the real world and you could see the fertilizer inside the spreader.

In other words you can dye it yellow if you want or any other colour. how ever some parts won't get paint applied to them and will stay gray or their base colour because you don't paint certain parts that would be bad (Such as the shock absorbing parts so they don't jam up or grind together, overall this wont affect it but if you don't want the first nasty part then don't paint it ). Depending on where it is.
I am not sure how to do semi transparent exactly right now, but i could figure it out. And seeing fertilizer in the spreader, how would we want that just bone meal inside it or some other way of seeing it (Liquid/Solid and all that stuff).
Or we could just have one colour but i feel customization of the colours is better cosmetically. I plan to make the not dyed ones more plan and dull (Many shades of gray) to make people more likely to paint their vehicle to yellow, or green or so. The reason behind this is not all tractors are green, and not all machines are yellow so why not just expand it to colours like magenta as well.
Edit: I looked and only some tanks are transparent, mainly the plastic one. Unless someone has a glass one... The metal ones however are not and the current recipe for the sprayer is metal, so ill leave it non-transparent. (Until or if the recipe is changed to plastic later transparency could be added).
Wurank_vashmilla, I like your idea. Not every bulldozer is yellow and not every tractor is green. You could add brand names into the texture like farming simulator but the names should be changed to have minecraft names. Here are some names, instead of John Deere, you could put jokey shear, new blockland instead of new holland, grassy brickerson instead of massy ferguson, and techex instead of terex. New blockland would be on the loader, tractor. The tractor with the new blockland livery would be red or blue., techex focuses on earthmovers. The excavator in the game should be white because terex excavators are white and their bulldozers are green. G.b or grassy brickerson would be on tractors too. J.s or jokey shear
would make bulldozers, excavators, combines, loaders and tractors. The agricultural machines j.s are green and the construction ones are yellow. You could also add random livery colours for all the machinery like the real life companies do.

yeah! there is no point in me putting any heavy equipment ideas here if tech stack isn`t working on this mod. please keep working on this mod and updating it techstack.

Hey guys sorry about not posting lately been crazy IRL with moving etc.. So I haven't had time to work on the mod lately.
Feel free to post ideas & I'll consider them when i return to a more normal life & have time for modding again.
