I have a parakeet at home, and, this goes for all domestic birds, THEY DO NOT JUST EAT SEEDS! They actually require fresh fruit and vegetables as well, maybe make it so they can eat apples, melon, carrot, potato, etc. Seeds are usually only offered as a snack/treat.
