Okay, hav'en a little trouble here. Started off as Human, just got a boatload of eggs,(might want to change the default egg spawn chance), put a Golden Dragon egg in my hoard, got the staff, put over a stack of gold in the hoard. Used the staff, and nothing happened. All I got was a text saying, "Silly human, only dragons have powers." Tried it with silver and night, no go, a little help please. And sorry if I'm being stupid and there's a super easy fix.
You need to change the staff function. Check controls and press it while holding a staff until it says you can change. (Which is only once.)
Right, hold the alt key, then right click to change mode to the "change form". Then right click without the Alt key held. You change to human. Do it again, to change to the dragon type for the staff.
I probably should make the default to change form. Right now it is to throw fireballs.
I noticed that I had forgotten to mention the Alt key. It had previously been the shift key, but that conflicted with several other uses for the shift key.
Okay.... Uh, how do you change the staff function? And do you mean the Main Options Controls? Or something else?
My mistake. It was the shift key previously, and the wiki just got updated, but a tooltip still says shift key. The wiki now says that you hold the Alt key down (maybe only the left one) and right click with the mouse to change the staff function. The tooltip will tell you which mode it is in.
There are no settings for this mod in the Main Options Controls. All the settings are in the mod settings that you only see before starting the mod.
I will update the tooltip for the staff ASAP, and create a new release with that fix soon.
3) Launch Minecraft at least once and it will create the profile folder (per the instructions above).
4) In Windows Explorer, navigate to the .minecraft folder. You can do a search for %appdata% to find it. Under that folder is Roaming\.minecraft.
5) In the .minecraft folder, create a "mods" folder.
6) Copy the DracoAnimus-1.7.10-0.3.0.jar to the mods folder.
7) Now when you run Minecraft, be sure to select the 1.7.10 profile you created in step 2 above.
8) You should see a Mods button. You can click that and select Draco Animus from the list of installed Mods. You can configure the mod for all kinds of things. The most important being whether to start as a Silver Dragon initially (this is under Dragon Player's Abilities).
no idea if its possible or not, but what if the earth dragon could transform into some blocks?
like, you select a power, use it, and you get replaced with solid blocks that people can step on/mine (minign the blocks damages you, but as long as one block is left you will survive?
like, if you are being chased by people/laying a trap, you dig a hole, stand it in, use the power, and nobody notices you..

Well,if you get someone, you should probably change the Eagle Dragon model. It currently looks like a giant owl,and it is more of a Roc than a dragon.
I like the Eagle Dragon, he has character. He may not look like a dragon, but he is fun because he flies a little faster (as long as its not raining).
But hey, I'm the coder of the mod, the one that doesn't want to spend days and weeks working on rendering the dragons better

Im having a problem when I star out I start as the silver dragon and I cant change my dragon type
So, you need to have a hoard, and also find a dragon egg in order to change to a different dragon.
This is explained in the wiki:
https://github.com/DracoAnimus/Coding/wiki
So did you follow the wiki instructions, or are you have a different problem?

Yea I did but when I have the egg in the hoard and use the staff it just says this staff is for (insert name here)

Thanks for the help!
I just added better instructions on this page:

Some drive by fun with ancient warfare 2 archer and eagle pick up skill
Okay.... Uh, how do you change the staff function? And do you mean the Main Options Controls? Or something else?
I strive to build a Mechanical Dragon... It isn't going well.
LOL, that is pretty funny that you are riding the Eagle Dragon

actually in ancient warfare you can get soldiers so I got an archer and picked him up when I did he started shooting mobs
You hold alt then right click you can change this in controls screen

How do you install this? I can't find the instructions.
1) Download it.
2) Install Forge 1.7.10 first (here is a link on how to do that: http://minecraft.wonderhowto.com/how-to/install-forge-for-minecraft-1-7-10-0158196/)
3) Launch Minecraft at least once and it will create the profile folder (per the instructions above).

And that character is an owl. Also, you do realize that the job of a coder is to work on the mod to the best of his/her ability, right?
Ah, I didn't get that at first. Good to know Draco Animus works with Ancient Warfare mod installed
