Hello. I have created a mod that adds an improved brewing system brewing system via a special cauldron. Different ingredients add different effects and colors to the cauldron. To heat up the cauldron place a block of lava underneath it. Each lava block will heat the cauldron up by 50 degrees. After 50 degrees, the lava block will vanish and another will have to be placed. Btw, make sure the cauldron doesn't get above 495 or you will have an explosion on your hands. Feel free to tell me what you think! How the Magic Workbench Works:
The magic workbench is used to create most items in the mod. Items can be arranged shapelessly like a red power alloy furnace for some recipes, or in a shaped manner like the vanilla crafting table. As of version 0.0.6 the alchemically treated cauldron must be created in the magic workbench.
How the Cauldron Works:
When a ingredient is brewed into the cauldron more than once, it can increase the duration or amplifier of the potion. If the same item is brewed into the cauldron over and over, a very powerful potion can be created. Each brewing ingredient requires a different temperature to be brewed into the cauldron. Be careful with how many ingredients you brew into the cauldron, because if you brew in too many negative effects may occur. Pictures of the cauldron:
I just uploaded a 1.7.10 version. In the new version I changed the crafting recipe so you only need a cauldron and a blaze rod. Tell me if you have any ideas. I'm thinking of making special potions that can add enchantments to items.
Just uploaded a 1.8 Prerelease. Forge seems to be in an early state right now so proceed carefully. In this version liquids to not render in the cauldron. This will be fixed after forge allows blocks to render liquids inside of them without an obscure amount of work. More features coming soon! Enjoy!
looks nice, but i prefer the witchery mod brewing system but, i'd recommend changing some of the recipes to match the vanilla potions, and maybe changing the blindness potion to an ink sac
Escman1999: I'll consider doing that. It probably would be best to avoid confusion.
DxD_Ragnarok: Stronger versions of the current potions can be created by brewing an item into the cauldron more than once. i.e. 1 ghast tear in the cauldron will yield a level 1 ~4 min regeneration potion, but brewing two tears into it will cause an increase in either duration, or amplifier.
Splash potions are a good idea! I think i'll start on those after I finish what I'm working on now!
Just uploaded a release for 1.8. I finally got the water to tint and display properly in the cauldron which was the last thing I was waiting for. The next version will have some cool new features. Enjoy!
Ok, just uploaded 0.0.6. It adds new types of metals, a new crafting table, and a machine called the thermal compressor. I'll put how the thermal compressor is used in the OP soon. Please note that the normal crafting table can no longer be used to create the alchemically treated cauldron.
Sorry could not update the version 1.7.10, I searched mods about potions and this is so cool, but the version 1.7.10 is out date and there is more variety of mods. I dont know how hard it's and if you can't thx anyway

Cool, Thanks, just tried 0.0.5 and it is working.
This looks cool. Are you actively working on this for 1.7.10? Would love to add this to my alchemy guild on my server.

Very good mod
It would be cool if you added a shrinking potion
A Shrinking Potion plus a growing Potion would be awesome
