I have a bug to report for the 1.8.x version. I don't know if you've already heard this one, but sometimes using a Bucket to retrieve a source block of liquid blood returns a Water Bucket rather than a Blood Bucket. Not a world wrecking crash like me last one, but very annoying in the early Survival game.

No, I haven't heard that one before. I will look into it, thanks.
I have another crash for 1.7.10. This happens when I try to use EvilCraft with Thaumcraft and Tinkers' Construct. Removing TConstruct fixes the problem:
Here's how I know (or think I know) that EvilCraft is causing the problem. This is a line from fml-client-latest.log:
[16:03:41] [Client thread/ERROR] [FML/]: Caught exception from evilcraft
Yeah, I also need to see the `(continues like this for a while)` part you removed...
Please post the full log as a pastebin/hastebin.
The 'continues like this for a while' part is just

I'm not able to reproduce the crash you had with the same Thaumcraft and TCon versions, so I guess it's being caused by some other mod.
Just to be safe, I added some extra checks in the EvilCraft code, which will be present in the next bugfix release.
This line
[16:03:41] [Client thread/ERROR] [FML/]: Caught exception from evilcraft
is not necessarily the cause of that crash. It is possible that there was a (caught) crash during startup time, but for that I'd need to see the complete forge log, not just the crash log.
Kroeser.. when do you have planned next update ?. Excuse my insistence but I want to play in version 1.8.9 Thanks !!
Well, I just finished implementing the new chalice and box of eternal closure models yesterday
I just have a few more things to do, and the I'll publish a new release.
This might either be later today, or tomorrow. But most likely tomorrow
I may have found out from David (Afraid of the Dark mod) what was going on with the spirit machinery. Apparently the way Forge handled Spawn Eggs and forced mob spawning was changed in one of the 1.8 versions. That could have thrown off the code.

Yes, I'm aware of that change
The Spirit Machine should be working again just fine in the newest release, did you try it out already?

In 1.8 or 1.8.9? I don't think the mod I had the most trouble with (Zelda Sword Skills) has a 1.8.9 release yet. It would be a good reason to start using content addition mods on my 1.8.9 profile though. Speaking of which: How goes the idea of working with Emoniph on Intangible integration?

Yes, 1.8.9.
I haven't had a chance to look at this integration, I've been mainly focussed on fixing bugs, and developing a new mod. Once that's done, I can look into some more EvilCraft content.

They work fine with me, maybe your internet provider is blocking something? Can you download from curseforge directly.
Will it be another magic mod? 1.8+ could use some more spell-centric mods. I just love that new mod smell!

I am getting a very strange crash in my new 1.8.9 modpack. It only appears when I have EvilCraft (and CyclopsCore) together with Biomes O'Plent and Plant Mega Pack. I have isolated it to these mods making a small pack with only these 3 (4) mods. It always crashes on worldgeneration spitting out the following error:
Never mind me. This is not the bug you are looking for, move along.
After several more test I concluded it does not relate to evilcraft.

Mr. Kroeser,
Could you provide the config line for Dark Ore generation for the Simpleretrogen mod?
Thanks.
"We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage far."
These should work (untested):
If you only want to regen Dark Ore, just use the first line.
Note that EvilCraft also has the option to retrogen in its config file should this not work.

As promised, new updates for both 1.7.10 and 1.8.9 are out now. (Download links in original post)
A lot of things have been fixed in both versions, and the Entangled Chalice and Box of Eternal Closure finally have (new!) models in 1.8.9.

They are available since the latest update.
You're right, 1.7.10 and 1.8.9 got updated. 1.8 won't ever get updated again because 1.8.9 is here, so there is no reason to further use 1.8.
Hey, i just started playing with this mod on my modpack and i'm getting a lot of degraded biomes, there is a way to reduce the amount of it to spawn?
