Are we going to be some kind of Human/Spider hybrid or a big spider that has several appearance differences?
(I'd like the latter the most) But my petty questions aside, the mod looks like it would be a load of fun, but I think that you being against everyone but spiders wouldn't have any real impact on the gameplay. I think you should have human mobs that would go mining and possibly even hunt you down and trade with villagers. That would be huge for a mod like this and would make it extremely addicting.
I plan to greatly adapt upon the original mod's human mobs sometime after release. One of the beta releases will contain the original mod's version.
Some random pondering, none of the following should be taken as fact:
When you hatch an egg, you get 2 - 8 random baby (very small) spider, these spiders will then feed on cocoons to get certain traits, these traits let them do various things, zombie - strength, horse - speed/able to ride or villager - harvest wheat. things like that.
Most spiders will have low health, they will die a lot but be easy to replace.
Very rare spiders can occur that have some.. special properties.
Again, nothing said here is a promise, just random late night thoughts.
I would be nice though, better then the 'plop eggs near cocoon and get full grown spider just because'
So you have
1.baby spiders: newborn spider . probably weak, no special ability, easy to get and easy to lose
2.'fed spiders':spiders: that ate cocoons. stronger, some abilities, harder to get and lose, but not that hard
3.special spiders:spiders that are special. and rare. very rare. and special.
I think it'll be nice if spiders are born really weak and tiny, and you grow them by feeding them cocoons.
a spider should get traits from each cocoon they eat, and after 5ish cocoons, they should be full grown.
Each cocoon can give a trait like
Zombie: spider gets damage/speed boost per health lost. The more zombies eaten, the more damage/speed gained per health lost
Skeleton: spider can shoot webbing to attack. shot strength and speed upgrades every time it eats another skeleton
Cave spider: Spider gets venom. Venom duration and potency upgrades per Cspider eaten
Iron golem: gets damage boost and health boost
Snow golem: Same as skeleton. Range and accuracy upgrades per snowgolem eaten
Witch:can give itself potion effects. Duration of potion and potion usage speed upgrade per witch eaten
etc, etc, etc
Also, getting a 'special boost' when fed exclusively on one mob would be fun too, like
Zombie-only: On death, spawns a hord of tiny spiders that will attempt to complete whatever task you set the spider, and dies when task is complete(a take on the zombies 'reinforcement' ability)
Iron golem-only: gains the ability to throw mobs into the air with attack. Gains huge boost in health and damage
Endermen-only: Ability to teleport
Cave Spider-only: shrinks to size 1x1,
etc, etc
Only random late-night thoughts, just like you lemonszz

Capturing mobs and feeding them to your spiders so they can get special abilities?
That'd be awesome. Great idea.

The reason Godzilla 2014 failed was because there was no Mothra in it.
Mothra is the only reason Godzilla is good. Mothra saved the movie industry. If Mothra never existed nobody would like movies. The reason many people hate Call of Duty is because it lacks Mothra.
I changed my name to MothraFanboy27.
I like the ideas of trigger happy humans, a few dozen hostile species, and, my favorite, evolution.
Here's what I'd like to see in evolution:
Growing your nest bigger, killing baddies, etc should earn you Evolution Points.
In turn, Evolution Points will fill up the Evolution Bar HUD.
When full, you get to pick between two or three advantageous modifications,
which in turn, will eventually cause you to evolve into a new form.
here's some help incase what I just said was confusing:
Evolution Points will fill up the Evolution Bar, which lets you get a upgrade, and after so many upgrades, you just plain out evolve.

I could see that working.
Each time, you could choose an upgrade that enhances one of your spidery attributes. It could be between webs, climbing, and combat. Eventually you could start prioritizing, so that one of your spider powers is greater than all the others.

close, but no.
I was kind of referring to Darwin's Theory of Natural Selection, by the whole evolution thing.
Eventually, you should evolve to a new form. depending on the upgrades you pick, you'll get one form or another.

When you say expand your nest, will you actually be able to mark an area which is your nest, or will there already be a nest built for you when you spawn? Or is this just a figure of speech?
First: Double post, please don't do that. There's edit button
Second: Don't Quote the main post, just reply in the tread. If you really must do that ,then use spoilers...
As a side note, if you could ,please watch your grammar...
Hey sorry for bad forum etiquette. I am a kid and also new to using forums (and yes, excited). My mom is helping me make this post and I will ask her for help when I post so I don't make mistakes like that double post.

I just want to say I think you guys are going to do a great job when in the future the mod is at a finish. Are we going to be able to put what ever type of queen skin we make or have already with the mod spider wise? Is she going to look a bit more different? Is the plant girl going to be in the mod still I liked that mob was a challenge in the game to get' You had to put a web block to stop her vines from attacking you in order to get the seed you need from her.

Netherworld' Fire spiders,Spider demons, only in the Nether some other stuff idk.
Maybe your spiders can go there with you to' and they have awareness of staying away from the lava?
Finding in a special chest a kind of stone or staff/Wand to summon a blaze on your side or bat that shoots fire?
Just some ideas if it happens cool if not' still cool. lol

Nether spiders can be neat, and I would like spiders to avoid lava, cacti, deep drops, and anything that might kill them. Because really, who wants to takes their army of spiders across a desert and have over half of them die on the way because they didn't avoid cacti and lava lakes?
The blaze and fire-shooting bat is 100% irrelevant to the mod, so I doubt it will be added
What program do you guys use so you can see what your mob looks like in 3D cause I want to see what all my queen skins look like on the queen. I have made' like 22 queen skins and I am going to keep making more cause its fun for me.

I'm not always worried about difficulty to code, more about high quality and fun.
Although if you haven't noticed, this makes it slow to release anything.
I agree, I'm just stating why Dj might have done it.
When I started on the forums on the lego forums, I had to do it myself, and thus, had a lot of ideas and trades rejected, because I was 10 at the time.
Do the fundamentals in each x.00.00 release, then in each release to support that release, refine the original release of that release.

Why should we use Minecraft AI? as you said, it's pretty stupid. Food and drops(like cliffs, not item drops) are about all they can notice
