I've noticed that hostile mobs spawn during the day and never burn with this mod installed.
What version of Minecraft and Stellar Sky are you using?
Are you playing on a server?
If so, the server must have Stellar Sky installed too… otherwise, what you see as "day" may not really be "day" on the server. It might still be dark and night time on the server… but you see it as day. The server controls when mobs spawn, not your client.
I was also having the memory leak type issue on 1.7.10. Opened the game with Stellar Sky, SciAPI and like 100 other mods. Game locked up instantly, second time round I did shift-f3, the whole pie graph was Sky rendering related. was cycling memory usage like crazy and task manager said cpu usage was well above 50%
using that latest 1.7.10 version.
Please post your StellarSky.cfg file with pastebin link here.
I was really intrigued to use this mod. However, when I went into my world, I could only see the stars in the night sky - The moon and its halo weren't there and neither was the Milky Way.
I'm using 1.8.9 Minecraft Tweaker (it's so I don't lag as much) along with the mods Forge (obviously), BetterFPS, BetterThanBunnies, Optifine HD, Xaero's Minimap, and this mod, Stellar Sky-0.2.1.0 and SciAPI-1.2.0.1.

Use recent version of Stellar Sky. You can find it from curseforge.
I downloaded Stellar Sky v0.2.1.4 for 1.8.9 from CurseForge. The Milky Way is now visible, however, the moon is still nowhere to be seen.
How many minecraft nights have you checked the sky for the moon? The moon doesn't behave like Mojang's moon, it behaves like our real life moon… it's not always visible.

I've checked on five in-game nights.
EDIT: I just re-downloaded the mod. It works now. The original download must have been corrupted or something. Thank tho!

Not likely corrupt. If it was corrupt… nothing would have worked at all.
Think about it like this… how many nights is the moon visible in real life? 14 out of 28. It's up for 14, then down for 14. You probably didn't wait long enough to see it come out.
Quick question: on default config, what is the date of the first Mc day? (I suppose 1st of summer?)

If you can make use of [ spoiler ] when you post crashLog, use fileHosting.
If you can't, don't post the damn km-long thing.
It is REALLY annoying for everybody.
Could you add the milky way for 1.8.9?The reason i liked the mod was the milky way, and most minecraft mods aren't updated for 1.9,and for me(and a lot of other ppl) the fun in minecraft is in the mods
Thanks
I made a change in the config, Year_Length=360, to be easily divided by 12, so I can use IngameInfo mod to get "real date", little bit like Terrafirma date system
I guess I'll have to manually check the day length of a week to try and find the longest or shortest day to determine my solstice lol(somewhere around day 190 I think I found)
I may revise the Tick_Offset, as I think the first day start at 6am, so a 24000 tick day, 5000 tick offset would mean 5am, which is incorrect

This mod looks promising, however whenever I use it I get bad lag. FP drops from average of 70 to 20! Any ideas ? I'm using optifine as well as about 100 other mods.

Wow. I was waiting for Stellarium, and decided to try out Stellar Sky.
Wow.
Seriously, good job on that. The Milky Way looks amazing in the sky at night, and the .cfg feature to tweak the size of the moon, genius.
Just makes me all the more excited for when Stellarium comes out!
Also, by the default configuration, what are the Z coordinates for the North and South poles? Is the several months of day/night at the poles turned on by default? Or do I need to enable it somewhere.
Final question I swear, since you have the day/night stuff for the poles, will Stellarium have the option to change the Rotational speed of planets/moons, or the tilt of the planet/moons axis? (Like how Earth has seasons)

And now for some things that I'm less proud of:
I just took the Minecraft Noob test! Check out what I scored. Think you can beat me?!

There are no "pole specific" features, so I'm not sure what you mean. Please elaborate on what you mean by "since you have the day/night stuff for the poles".
What version are we talking about, 1.7.10?
Also… there are no x,y,z coordinates for the poles…. you'll want to look into longitude and latitude using google/wikipedia to learn more about earth (IRL).

May 24th is what I figured it to be, by my best observations/calculations.
