No chance you'd be able to make it act as a button, so that every time a transaction is made, it basically transmits a redstone signal?
I made a new version (0.4.2), which sends a redstone signal out the bottom block whenever a transaction takes place. This was my first time coding redstone signals, so it could stand to use some testing. I did test it myself and it seems to be working well. The duration of the signal is the shortest I could make it (without looking into it that much), but I also made it configurable in the config file if you require signals with longer duration. I would warn though that if a player does many quick transactions in succession, some of the redstone signals may not fire. So if you're using it as a counter, it may not work perfectly.
Thanks for the idea though, I liked it a lot. Now we can make trade booth traps and kill customers with them.
Just so you know, I'm planning to add it into the next 1.5.2 FTB pack and into the Magicraft private pack as well. We need more mods that bring people together, and this does that excellently. Pretty sure, I'm going to build a server marketplace just for it heh.

Yeah, in the top block. It being designed/shaped the way it is, I thought there would be a visual indication of what's for sale. Just tested it in the private pack I maintain, and couldn't see the coal coke that was for sale.
Again, am not sure it's even *meant* to function that way .. but I did think that was how it would work.

It was suggested earlier that there should be some visual representation of the goods that are for sale, but I was not motivated to work on it at that time. Since there has been so much interest in the mod recently I'll give it a try soon. I can't imagine it would be all that difficult to implement.
Would love to see the item show up .. unsure about multiple items though. Have a few ideas off the top of my head. Perhaps make it just show one item, the top most in the inventory that's for sale. If that item is sold out, the next one comes up. All the items will be available for someone if they click on the block ..
This is an awesome mod. Seems like it isn't getting the attention it deserves, which is dissapointing. I'll have a look at it! Have some delicious budder objects: budder ingot: budder apple: solidified budder ore: . Enjoy!
No, because they could be used for griefing, I left it up to server admins to find a way to dispense them. There are mods that add custom recipes, like Custom NPC. Also, an admin could set up a trade booth that sells other trade booths. Maybe in the near future I'll make crafting recipes and add a configuration option to turn the recipes on or off.

0.1.6.2 Update Post
Hello Trade Booth friends. I uploaded the latest version of the Trade Booth mod for Minecraft 1.6.2. I added a few new features and haven't done a lot of testing, so please be wary if you're using this on an active server, there may be some unforeseen bugs. Maybe take 20 minutes to set up a test server and try out all the features to make sure they're still working properly. See the changelog in the OP for details on what's new. Also please read carefully the configuration file instructions in the OP for the new settings in this version before changing the settings.
If the crafting recipes I chose for this mod are identical to recipes from another mod you use, please let me know and I will change them to something unique. As usual please let me know if you find any bugs and I'll try to fix them as quickly as I can.
I didn't implement the feature request where items that are for sale are rendered inside the Trade Booth yet, still having a hard time imagining how it would work or look. You'll have to continue using signs or item frames for now.

Excellent, glad you like it. =)

edit: No optifine
What about no optifine?
This is Josh by the way. Long time no talk!
I just wanted to pop in and say your mod is included in the newest main version of tekkit, a pretty darn big deal actually, so congratulations!
Heh, just that many visual errors can be caused by optifine .. so I ensure I'm not running it to make sure that's not a complicating factor.

I am confused. How on earth do you craft this???EDIT: I used my eyes to find out that you cannot craft it >
I do, was just waiting for someone to ask. I'll try to release it this weekend.
Cool! Can't wait.
