They ripped us off and I mean "they" cuz its all run by one guy with multiple accounts last time I checked. He is using tekkit and some other weird stuff. He has no idea what he's doing.
We're already going to make skill/ability points. Its going to be nerfed a little from what we currently have, but here's how it works:
VIT – Vitality; How much health you have (every 10 points = 1 more HP).
SP – Stamina; How many skills you can use within a certain time frame (every 10 points = 1 more SP) (SP is the hunger bar).
STR – Strength; how much melee damage you do.
WILL – Will; Chances of getting critical hits.
DEX – Dexterity; How fast you move
RES – Resilience; How fast your stamina and health regenerates. (Health will regen extremely slowly even without this skill)
The maximum amount of points that can be put into one stat is 250. Each player gets 5 points per level.
Max level is 125. May change in future updates.
It is possibly to max out 2 and a half stats, if no points are spent elsewhere
The stats system is back from when we first made the mod. It hasn't been touched in about 5 months (?) so there is a lot to leave desired. Of course lots of this will change, but still, what do you guys think? Also we had some algorithms for a couple of the stats already:
(130% is approximation of sprinting speed compared to normal speed. I don't believe it is exact.)
We actually thought these out, they aren't random jumbles of numbers. We will need to change them since there are probably some errors though.
So, watcha guys think? :3
EDIT: Forgot to say: Ignore the HP and SP stuff. We will be using variables for those and not hearts/hunger bars.

there are some questions about the code i have
1. how much of each stat do you start off with? considering you are dividing str by 25 you need around 40-ish dmg to start off with
2. #1 may be null if the hp if you didnt change the mob's hp but if they pick up an item and equip it...
3. how much stat pts do you get upon levelling up and is it auto assigned or is it player assigned? because if it's player assigned someone can just tank on armor killing everything in 1 hit but that lets more freedom, auto assign will get rid of that problem but everyone will be the same so little creativity there. mabye for def you can do something that if you have higher def pts your armor protects you more or something like that.
these are suggestions as i have no idea about the health, sword damage, armor protection... if you choose to trust me by giving me an idea (or some lines of code that has to do with stats) I can give some feed back. I'll understand if you dont want to as some people betrayed you in the past.
I'll try and help out here and there by suggesting stuff or working on some stuff but all in all i want to see this mod succeed as you guys worked on it for a long time and i would hate to see all that go to waste (kinda ironic because I joined the thread 2 weeks ago XD) and i love SAO and so do my friends so i might get some of them to help out.
Suggestions:
1. Maybe you can change/create some mobs (wither) to a different texture and do something like "if wither spawned at (enter dungeon location) use sprite 1, if spawned at (enter dungeon 2 location) use sprite 2 change damage counter X 1.5) etc. im not good at programming so thats all i can offer XD.
2. Maybe you can use MCreator for some texture or modding
3. For classes you can just change what stats they start with, change what each stat assigned does (if you are a one handed swordman +1 agility boosts your speed by a counter of 2 while if you are a rapier weilding swordsman it boost your a counter of 4 or something like that)

srry about the long posts XD, i'll try to keep it precise and concise and about the people betraying you I had a feeling that someone told the other guys your codes and map making (which I would love to help out on). Maybe you can make it so it plays swordland whenever you fight a boss XD. I would love to help out in any way (coding (i can try XD), texture making, suggestions, building, beta-testing (BEATER) item creator, stat configurer etc.) I will help out in every way possible as i have alot of free time. just ask!
Any idea when the mod is going to come out? is there ppl still working on it?
We are still working on it, I've just had a lot of homework lately with spring break coming up. Next week is my break, so I think we're going to try and kick things into gear then.
EDIT: Mod won't come out publicly for a while, because I don't want my thread flooded with "Why won't this work." "Black screen" (or when a new update comes out) "UPDAET NAO PL0X". People will just have to be satisfied with some screen shots and teaser videos.
Hey guys, we're finally going to start working on the mod again next week. We're going to start big and add in the smaller stuff like swords later, so this way we have more content in our mod to impress people. I won't tell you guys what it is yet, it'll be a secret for now.
With the mod being put back into production, we're going to host a hamachi server (we will host a dedicated one later) to start building the first floor for beta. We will only allow people that we have talked to for a little to help, that way we don't have any issues. We will be more strict than the last building project, now that we are in charge.
Hardwork and dedication is more important than your skills. As long as you aren't terrible, you can help. All builders will get immediate closed alpha access when we start testing before beta.
Mordeth, if you still follow this thread, I would very much appreciate it if you would like to help with this mod in any way. You have proven yourself to be one of the competent members for Minecraft Forums and extremely helpful. PM me when you have time.

We've gotten a fair amount of the spawn done, and its looking so much better than the last server now that we're in charge. If anyone's looking to become a builder, message me and I'll see if I can arrange anything.

As for the mod, we're starting that this week as well, but won't be putting out the files right away (for reasons previously explained).
Remember to check back from time to time, as we're always making updates!

so you are going to add 3D weapons? if you want suggestions i can help because i watch the entire anime and one sugestion that might help is release a version for 1.5.1 but without new because we wont going to see "pls update to 1.5.1"

Guys, for the time being, I'm going to be working on another PvP / RP server.
As it is now, the SAO server will never come to be. None of us want to spend all our time coding this mod, when we could be learning other things.
We will probably attempt at a vanilla server with no mods, but for now I can't promise anything.
