Ok soaryn i hope you see this because i just had a great idea for power gen and power and item transport. This is based off of the guy who had the lased idea on the first page and halafords tesla coil idea. Now i know ur trying to be original and stuff and thia general idea is pretty original, and that idea is instead of having a single block that performs a function, like the furnace, having a whole structure, like many of the things from terrafirma craft and the coke oven from railcraft. My idea is that the structure should be about three blocks tall and circular ish in shape. Here is a diagram.

Now i know that isnt circular but basIcally its a pixel art circle and every two blocks around the cricle is a tower. The material it is made out of determines the amount of power generated. Each tower is basically a three block high pillar and the material determines the teir of the generator. Oh btw the circle of which i speak only has like a 10 block diameter. Anyway, th e first teir should be stone or glass, the second should be aluminum and the third should eb xychorium blocks. The center should consist of three different blocks. Oh and btw the whole concept behind this thing is that it draws power from the air around it, so maybe some type of colored fog effect in that chunk and the ones surrounding it over long periods of use that goes away after not using it for a while. Anyway the top block would be the atmospheric energy condenser, which would have beam effects coming from every tower, maybe like colored versions of th beams that heal the ender dragon. The middle block would be the condensed energy refiner, wich might be like a slender rod of glass with vertical
Ightning effects going to the blocks above and below it. The final block should be the refined energy distributor, which leads to my idea for item and power transport, which is much shorter.btw just substitute the word energy with whatever the name of the energy in xycraft will be
My idea for item and power transport is lasers. Lets use power transport. The energy comes out the Bottom of the refined energy distributor in a straght line. The way to change direction is using an energy transmitter. When it is right clicked n interface opens that llows you to tellit which direction to send the power. Nothing happens when different beams cross, and a block called a current splitter can be used to split a laser in two or more directions. The machine being powered simply has to intersect with the beam to start drawing power. Item transport is similar. Items needing transport are put in a chest next to an item de-atomizer, which creates a laser which works the same as the energy one but is different colored and uses matter transmitters. No splitters however. To replace the splitters. The deatomizer can sort items and send one group of items in one direction and one in the other. The matter beam is then sent through an item re-assembler and voila you have your items, which are put in an adjacent inventory. Perfect if you using a buildcraft quarry or something. You can beam all ores to an underground furnace to smelt them, and then to you house and all unsmeltables and other blocks directly to your house.
Those are my ideas. Feel free to use them in this mod or another or to change them as you see fit. Sorry it was so long and im sorry for any spelling or grammar errors. Im doing this at 12:30 am on my ipad.
Edit: Also a quick idea for expansion. Its name would be transport and it would basically be teleportation using the whole laser system., like you stand on some expensive teleport pad type thing hooked up to another through a laser system, apply a redstone signal and you appear at the other end.
I had been thinking about making a mod alot like this for a while, I also love the idea of technology, especially things having to do with particle physics and space, only I don't know java. But I do have alot of ideas of my own if you'd like to hear them. Also, like most other people here, if you have a beta/alpha tester spot open I'd love to have it.
i want to beta test it befor the releasr becuase it is a mix between mechanical and mystical it seems like a great mod take your time your not rushed time is everything remember that just make it so there are a few things missing but everything main is in like crafting. i hope you think about me beta testing it also thanks for reading i saw you on dw20's vids.

Can you elaborate on what a ZPM is? Maybe I already know and just can't remember the acronym, but I don't know what a ZPM is.
As Caiman Crocigator said it stands for Zero Point Module.
They work by harnessing a power source called Zero Energy that appears in Quantum Mechanics and ThermoDynamics, Zero Energy is also called Vacuum Energy because it is the energy left behind in a vacuum space when all matter has been removed from an area and is thought to give the harnassed energy when photons collide with the space around that area.
To put it short it is a powerful and long lasting energy supply, but extremely expensive and currently only a theory in real life.
I think you should have a multipurpose machine, in other words, a machine that can do the job many others combined; as well as make it modular, so that you could add or subtract functions (ever heard of a crafting table that, not only crafts advanced items, but also smelts/cooks ores and food like a furnace and enchant things like an enchantment table?).
You could call it something like, UniBlock
and the UniBlock could open Portals to other worlds (like the Lazer in Tron) if it had the right Gate Card(s) installed.
