I deleted meta inf and it still doesn't work. It freezes at mojang and then the crash report comes but disappears straight after.
Okay, if you could, do me a giant favor... if you have mc patcher, run minecraft (without patching) through mc patcher and then copy and paste the error report. That way, I could see whether or not the problem is coming from my mod or not.
Don't make him killable permanently that will just ruin it. But that's just my humble opinion. I love the creepy ambiance! So since I have that playing, I'm assuming I installed it correctly?
There was another Herobrine mod that I tried, but it added Chuck Norris as well and well that's just ridiculous :P. I love how creepy this mod feels. I haven't bumped into him yet, but I hope to soon :)Please continue to work on this you have my support

Oh yes it is installed correctly, those sounds mean that he is within a certain distance from you. In the next release the sounds will be fainter when he's far away and louder when he's close up. And not to worry about him getting killed permanently, after he gets killed he will respawn after a certain amount of time; however, the boss fight itself will probably be a one time deal, like the ender dragon.

Spawn normally? As long as you haven't seen him in two places at once, everything is going as planned. Although if people feel that he needs to be rarer, I can do that too.

The floating signs are a result of a little laziness on my part; that will be fixed in the next release, which by the way will be out soon.

What I would suggest is to clean your mods folder (in .minecraft) of old mods, because it appears you have something residual that needs minecraft forge. If that doesn't work, also delete your minecraft.jar, redownload it, and reinstall the mods.
What's the ETA on the next update? I have a few questions too.
1. Does he ever attack you, and can you attack him?
2. Does Herobrine ever appear after he's transported you to the nether?
I would estimate any time between Monday and Thursday (I don't expect to get anything done on July 4th).
1. He does not attack you directly, that's part of what makes him scary. However, his spider minions in the update will attack directly.
2. If you're asking if he spawns in the nether, no. But when you go back to the overworld he resumes his usual activity, although he shouldn't be in the same place as when he teleported you.
It'd be interesting if a nether portal didn't generate after he teleported you. Essentially "banishing" you to the nether. Maybe you could make it so that a portal generates a pre determined set of blocks away? Come to think of it, that'd probably be hard to code.

You're right, it wouldn't be very straight forward. However I might be able to find a way to delete the portal that generates normally and then make one generate somewhere else like you said. If I can investigate that, it might be in a later update.
