EPIC! lol. There should be movable nodes, and catastrophic effects for if you bring two of them too close...
hm... how about... the wo nodes collide, and suck up all the inactive vis in the area near it, as in, a certain radius around the issue... I think that would be pretty catastrophic, right? then you'd be unable to collect vis if you mess up with that.

No Azanor said that the nodes would be free roaming. A previous idea I posted earlier was based on the idea of overlapping nodes.
Those nodes look rather two-dimensional. I thought they were supposed to be three dimensional? Is that in the works, is it too complicated, or am I just interpreting it wrong?

It is actually the result of a little bit of debug code I added to make node bounderies more clearly visible for testing purposes - I never intended to add it as a real thing, but it looked so cool I couldn't resist posting the image.
And yes, in that image the nodes are all at the exact same y-level so not so much 3d. Once again for debug purposes.

Hm... now what should happen if there's a crazy GOOD aura? I mean, I can kinda imagine what would happen were there ever a razy BAD aura... zombie apocolypse!...but, again, what would happen with good?

I was already having a superlatively crappy week, and I just found out that NCSoft is shutting down the servers on my favorite MMO of all time. So I came here looking for good news.

That node-boundary image may actually be the nicest thing that's happened to me this week.
I love the part about soul trapping powerful demons and using them as a WMD. Just imagine the destruction! But I think something that powerful would require something like the mirrors being constructed something like:
V Metal
V Metal V Metal
V Metal
Mind you, this would have to be made twice in order to work. But if you hook it up, it would supercharge the/create an aura (if created, the node is in between where mirrors were), or destroy everything in a 4000 block radius (no drop).
Keep up the good work Azanor! I've been lurking on these threads (TC1 (ahh, the good old days), TC2 and now this) for ages, an I know that whatever of these ideas actually make it into the mod, it'll be amazing!

One of the greatest things I had fun exploring and using was the Seal system in Thaumcraft 2. The ability to make portals, create diverse traps, and otherwise makes things interesting kept it lively and I never ran out of things to try. The Dust mod was essentially the same concept taken in a different direction, with teleportation runes and xp-grinders. The Seals have great animations and lovely designs, encorperating magical elements and making it work.
Assuming, of course, if the Seal system is still going to be implemented.
I would not mind seeing more Seals In general The Tainted seal seems to be lacking but non the less I just love Thaumcraft and wish Azanor The best of luck!
I would love to have The wind seal to really push players. Just so I could Make a parkour Map with that alone. (now it will be online there for anti player seals will be in effect, how about a tool to disarm seals? Or slow there reaction time? Then seals to counter this, and so on I do not know you too well Azanor but I just love giving Idea's )
I have spend months mixing it with other mods for thaumcraft is the Main-game-changer and every other mod is just an add on.
I been rereading all the posts well I just now started to read them I should of jumped on it much sooner but oh well,
Now If I use all of my devices to drain the energy A flux is created? It would be sick as hell to have a really heavy drain cause devices to malfunction Or explode, Or even have you lose some of your research But on a side note will there be devices that can adjusts the Balance of Vis? Of course a price will be paid and I am thinking a 75/25 trade off (You give more to get little, ) ? or are we just looking at the Vis Condenser? Then again you might of all ready chanced something and I have yet to finish reading.
Also when this gets to be Multiple I foresee people screwing up the land because they are not careful, or to cause grief (FREAKEN AWESOME! ) will there be ways to just mess with flux's? Or even create two flux's in two areas to rebound of each other ? Or even Create a heavy flux with a simple click of a button ? This item or tool should be extremely expensive
Now to maintain balance, These devices would both demand a lot and could create a vortex of flux if left unchecked For with out Chaos there is no Order.
Now from what I am reading heavy green area's will be the best locations to build Thaumatorium's but what if I build in the dry desert? in theory I see I could build there and steal energy but I would need to make sure my bubble is big enough to touch the other aura, the problem is, is that if the locale green starts to steal from the desert I am screwed. Could there be a way to stop this suction from happening? just so I could keep my world balanced ? Then again having to move from one location to another would keep the game Interesting as you create unbalance with other players. (Now I have more idea's, For keeping the game both Dangerous and yet Fun is what makes it fun. )
One last idea before I shut up; Another moon. why anther moon? it could be red and it is slow, but it effects all of Thaumcraft O_O I like to think of it as a blue moon.

4 nodes overlapping. Reminds me of an Alchemical array from Fullmetal alchemist. Or the magical circles from a lot of anime with magic.

Are there benefits to making changes in the aura at various speeds, or are all changes at any speed a bad thing?
