One thing that bothered me when watching direwolf's 56
is that Phials/vials are used up or destroyed from simply transporting essences. Could you just get the Phial or container back like you do with a bucket ?
Yes they are, but if you look the recipe is 3 glass in the shape of a bucket and one clay to give you EIGHT, so it is loss to transport them but not that big.

Seems to me they behave like forestry cans or capsules. Besides, it's glass and some clay to make eight of them. It's not like it's an expensive recipe.
I understand the argument that it is not an expensive loss however i dont' understand the logic or reasoning as to why it's necessary to design a fluid container that is destroyed upon transport of fluids, particularly when system for refunding the container is already in place. I have no familiarity with other tech mods with respect to fluid container apparatuses being destroyed from transporting fluid(i'm guessing radioactive material or some sort of corrosive fluid that destroys the container? ) so i'm still uncertain as to why this standard is a good or necessary when there is a return/keep bucket mechanic already in place for things like cakes that refund your buckets or vanilla cauldrons that let you keep your bucket despite pouring the water that was previously in it into a cauldron block.

Especially when you think how well this mod will blend with Mystcraft. A Checkerboard swamp/desert will solve the resourcing issue for the phials. Or pretty much anything.
If phials can hold 8 flux how about an item that can siphon out 1 flux at a time and is re-usable like a bucket. I understand however, if you are trying to make the flux leftover in the illambics an annoyance and that is perfectly reasonable.
I also like the idea of flux seeping out of jars very slowly and being put into the local flux. If this were to occur, there would need to be a magic enhanced or arcane jar that can hold more flux and hold it in without a leak.
Another cool idea would be a large multiblock jar/tank that can either hold large amounts of flux or hold liquefied whispy essences.
Liquefied whispy essences would be broken down in a special machine that is powered by nitor perhaps? and pumps it out through conduits to head into a tank. You could also filter out the soul aspect and have pure elements filling jars or tanks. This could be an alternate way to produce pure elements without the use of illambics or phials. It also brings importance to harvesting flux-filled aura nodes.
There could also be a way to capture the power of an aura node and relocate it. This would need to be and extremely expensive item like a battery for aura and you could place the item in a pedestal in your house and use it as your house's 'power core'.
Well Azanor I hope you read this. It means a lot to me and I hope to see the development of thaumcraft continue. This is by far one of my top three favorite mods and I hope you can learn a lot from it and get as much out of the content you create, and most of all, enjoy it's development. you earned it.

If I could have one explanation, it's that you're containing raw elemental power in these phials, and that when the clay cap on the phial is removed to pour the contents into a warded jar, it can't be put back on to reseal it.

If you're callin' about the Mobtalker scripts, I no longer have access to them.
However, it's been getting tempting lately to put together a modpack that includes CustomNPCs, so I could definitely work in something along the same themes in the modpack's quests. Feel free to give suggestions of mods that promote an experience which minimizes mining grind in favor of exploration. I'll likely have to include Grimorie of Gaia to provide good models (No I'm not gonna directly change the default mob models)

Still it appears that you can recycle the warded jar after use. It seems somewhat contrived and given the vanilla bucket refund behavior I'm curious as to the purpose of this feature.
NOTE: off topic post
I thought it would be interesting based on essences that later azanor could make a tech mod based on chemistry. It would be interesting. This doesn't really have anything to do with tc3 or thaumcraft in general. It was just a mod request that sounded interesting with what's possible.
(btw the reason I have perfect grammar when I usually have terrible grammar is I'm typing this post on my iPad because I'm to lazy to go downstairs and wright this post)
Please, make an effort to read a few pages before you ask. Also, try to use proper spelling. To answer your question (that has been asked a million times already), Azanor says "soon". That's all.
Soon(tm). And I think we should go by blizzards official definition of "Soon" as its the one that most likely applies here. Atleast it will keep the "you said soon" people at bay.

How many aluminium cans have you managed to put the pulltab (heh showing my age there it's now a punch in thingy) back into or screw top beer bottles have you put the cap back on and had it seal?
From a gameplay perspective there is usually a downside to stackable containers that is mostly that they are one use only.

The research system as well as the essences would be a big weight off my sholdiers. I mean just think of it... You will have to research every single machine, tool, and most materials that my mod will add. If I can make it a TC3 addon, then I don't have to worry about coding in my own research system and some very basic essences that TC3 will have. I would not be adding much to TC besides the things that my mod asks, unless somebody asks me to do something that 1) I can do, and 2) I want to do... You can find the very basic idea of what I plan to implement on my WIP mods page.
Note how my post has almost next to nothing to do with the quote that I put up.

Been around minecraft since before survival mode even existed, I remember the day survival test first came out. Damn, minecraft has certainly changed.
