My problem is when i add a horse using the lasso or the spawning lasso the game says saving blocks then goes black and i cant play that game anymore and if i start a game if it has horses the game is black and otherwise it dosn't have horses
@Brumby, it sounds like you don't have all the mods this mod requires, or maybe you haven't installed this one quite right. Take a look at the OP and try again? Come back if you still have issues.
Hey there, big fan of your mod already! I love horses so much. I appreciate you for making this mod for everyone =D
I have an idea about the Clydesdale pulling carts. The Cart Mod (By MineCrak) Works on the horses, but the only glitchy problem about this would be the horse's body is too long (it is longer than most entities in the game) and the cart appears about halfway up the Clydesdale's body. If somehow you could fix this problem so that the cart appears at the end of the body, then this would save you alot of work with the cart system. Just throwing idea's out there; Keep up the good work!
My Clydesdayle Horses won't let me put a saddle on there backs it makes me and my 15 cats sad is there any way to fix this?
Clydesdayles are being made as the cart pulling horses. Not riding horses. Thus you can't put a saddle on them. It's realistic in fact since most clydesdayles are too big in rl to ride anways.

That's actually not true.
Many Clydesdales are used at dude ranches as mounts for heavier riders.
With further experimenting I've come across another glitch/error Aren't you so glad?
Teleporting-to-Owner-While-Riding-a-Minecart Glitch: Much as the title says, I've learnt that if you lasso a mare and go off to an area to break said mare, but happen along the way to have your mare "accidentally" trapped in your mine cart loop created for this very purpose, the mare will constantly teleport between you and the mine cart until you switch away from the lasso. If you are close enough to the mare this will not occur.
And on similar terms, if you enter a mine cart while having a horse follow you (Tame, perhaps wild as well but this is not tested) then, even if you switch off of the lasso, the horse will continue following you
does this work with Skyrimcraft? And also, this installation method doesn't seem to be working for me. Should I be putting the contents of the mod's .zip file into my jar?
No, you should be putting the mod zip in your mods folder
And since its a mod-folder mod it's probably compatible with most things. You might have to shuffle item IDs though - worst case scenario xD
An idea that might end up being uber-complex - as I don't know if there would be a way to randomize coat colours/patterns with spawns, maybe give the player the ability to change a horse's coat colour with dyes? (I don't know how you'd change patterns or markings...that could be too complicated.)

I like that idea :L the markings might be special potion-like items... :3
1. Yes, I did get a cold (and fever) in the dead of summer. No, I am not in the southern hemisphere... I am in Georgia, USA. And no one else around me had a cold...
2. This happens to me more often than I'd like to admit.
ANYWAY. I promised a progress update like... a week ago. So um. It's the one you've all been waiting for!... I think.
Progress Update!
The Vardo is almost finished- in fact, I expect to finish coding it in a couple hours. But I decided to just get this post up before resuming my coding activities. With the completion of the Vardo, all three main vehicles will be complete.
The Vardo will work in the same way as the Cart and Wagon, in that a right-click brings up its GUI. From the there, you will press a very obvious button that will align the Vardo on the axis, spawn a bed, and automatically have you sleep inside of it. Why? Well, when actually working on the sleep mechanic, I found a bit of code that prevents the player from sleeping if he is not sleeping on a bed block. Thus, the Vardo spawns and destroys the bed before and after each sleep cycle.
That out of the way, here's how we're going to proceed: This weekend, I'm going to glue myself to my computer chair and code nonstop to (calmly, surely, and correctly) code in the last features and fixes I wanted to add to this update. On Wednesday, I will release the next Simply Horses update with as many of those features as I managed to add in. What features are those? Well, I've mentioned some around this gigantic thread, but there are a few others that I haven't. Since I can't (read: won't) predict what I'll get finished and added by that time, I won't bother listing them, but rest assured they are what a few members have been asking for for a while.
Also, depending on how well I (calmly, surely, and correctly) code in those additions, I may actually get done and release the update earlier than Wednesday, so just... check the thread once a day if you're really on the edge of you seat about it.
Oll korrect? Oll korrect.
Response Time!
@Everyone, thanks for the well-wishes about the whole sick-thing. ^^! Y'all are awesome.
@Senyazza @Ziu, thanks for answering so many posts and helping with peeps' problems in my absence. Y'all are awesome ^^. This goes to everyone else who helped out as well!
@RaustBD, yeah, as we discussed over Skype, I think I am going to go with that Sparrow-oriented idea of yours. ^^
@Tealtiger, lol, yes, you can ride an entity that is riding another entity (same as with pigs), I will be adding the ability to tie horses to minecarts, though. As for the Wild West content pack... well, Senyazza's randomobs texturepack already has painted horses, and you can make hitching posts out of fences. But being able to lasso vanilla mobs will happen soon, as will netherrack fence hitching.
@nikikt, thanks ^^
@polo12, no no, you will be able to sleep in vardos, but they will have only one large chest instead of the original two ^^. And don't worry, your English is fine, and thanks for the support!!
@arnusek, as this is a WIP mod, no, I'm not giving anyone permission to use it in modpacks. I will have some terms and rules of such uses when it's finished. ^^ Thanks for the interest, though!
@Mushroomsock, yeah, I've seen it. *Shrug* Moving on..
@rolrock, ditto! Hopefully it meets expectations!
@Bryguy, that is the Spawner Lasso, which is about to get nerfed. It was used to replace horses people lost due to a problem in a previous update, and was only supposed to be accessible in survival for one update. Hopefully it won't need to be used soon.
@MrGreenWKD1, I've noticed some interest in keep horses gendered, so I'm definitely keeping the idea in the back of my mind. You see, Simply Horses is supposed to remain as faithful to the vanilla gameplay as possible, and in vanilla, the animals don't have genders. If that many people really want genders, then I might add it, but until such a point, they're staying neuter ^^. Thanks for the suggestion, though.
@Flowarznsunshine, I've not encountered that bug, unfortunately. Rolrock seems to know something about it, though. I'd suggest reinstalling SH or trying to install it without Forge, to see if either solves that problem. please report back!
@Ellikotten, I'm glad you like the mod ^^! Sorry about the texture issue, however. Just know that mobs that spawned before you added Senyazza's texturepack will not get the new coat patterns. New horses, however, should.
@The_Creator_Pedals, as Ziu explained, if a wild stallion loses a fight with another stallion, it will turn into a mare. If you catch any mare, take them away from their herd, and release them, they will turn into stallions if there are no stallions around. ^^
@MusicFox5, this may be an error with your installation of ModLoader, try reinstalling it with a clean minecraft.jar, and make sure to delete META-INF. Run Minecraft to make sure it works, then install SparrowAPI, run Minecraft again, and if it's working normally, install Simply Horses by dropping it into the Mods folder. Hope that helps!
@Lucky_Cheetah, there will probably be an add-on that adds a loyalty code such as what you're asking for. Probably. I haven't -exactly- planned them yet ^^. As for horses not dying.. ummm.. Hmm.. I'll try and figure something out... Sorry about the bears though!
@SAD, though it is possible in real life, you can't ride the Clydesdales in game. Please make sure to read all of the intro post for more information about the mod.
@Darklord_sep, some world seeds seem to be sparing with the horses. I recommend trying a new world ^^;;
@trrehater, yes, you do clip through leaves. I would have fixed that, but it makes travelling through forests unbearable...
@BrumbyLover, what other mods do you have installed? There may be an incompatibility somewhere. Also, if you could post the contents of your modloader.txt file, I'd be much obliged :3.
@nallekalle, if you find the horses ugly, then try modelling some yourself. If they're really good I'll use them in my mod ^^.
@JumpStartMyHeart, ^^ Thanks for the support and tips. The clipping issue isn't applicable to my cart system, however, as I adjust for the long bodies of the Clydesdale.
@Permonosmag, though the player can't ride the Clydesdales, the cats surely can. You simply lasso a Clydesdale to a cat ^^.
@Yogfan, I'm glad you like the mod! Unfortunately, I won't be adding it to any modpacks; I think it stands well on its own |D.
@Bryguy, Pfffffffffffffffffffffft! "Accidentally." xD I'll fix this in this coming update. As for the "switching off" the lasso, this causes Wild Horses to stop following, but not tame. That's intended ^^. Thanks for bugtesting!
@randomdreamer, this mod should work with any mod that doesn't edit base classes (and even most that do). If there is a conflict, let me know. You should be installing this mod by dropping it into the Modloader "Mods" folder.
@dartigen, I'll look into this. You do get random coat patterns when using Senyazza's texture pack (found in the first post) and randomobs (found in Optifine or MCPatcher). However, there's no true way to change the textures manually. I'll see about fixing this ^^.
@Mooshroom. glad you like that mod, you're welcome!
I admit, I stalk this thread. Usually I find some question to answer as an excuse.. but... I just have to say. Robopig, your profile picture has crowns for hooves. Awesome.
^ Proof that you can never please everyone xD

Never mind there not supposed to be ridden I think because there draft horses
hope you get well soon and can't wait for the farming equipment
