NOTE: the Sword and shield mod will now be called ~Warrior Cultures~
It will require dual wielding in the coding ( i do not see a way around that) mounting weapons will be done by crafting any weapons u want displayed to a shield. then u can mount it on walls etc.
It will include NPCs.
I will make an independent banner for the ~Warrior Cultures~ mod wen HoneyBeezzz decides to start coding it.
@ Joey u can keep the banner u made as it is no need to remove the sprite just because i am gna make an independent banner.
@ HoneyBeezzz and Joey: PM me to contact me if u start on the ~Warrior Cultures~ and if u need anything or have any questions. because i will not be checking the thread much because i am busy with a lot at the moment.
It kind of seems like you started with a really cool idea, then expanded it. But in doing so you have lost all focus of the mod. I will start to break down my analysis of each part
Weapon/Shield Spites
Damn dude, they look great. Although I suspect they look higher then the default x16 resolution. You really need to make x16 versions of everything as many people may not have mcpather installed and therefore the item textures would not work for them.
On closer expection they are x16. Damn great work on those spites
The 4 soldiers
Again their armour and stuff look great, my nit picky thing is more about the roman labels (I am a bit of a roman history buff).
A Roman Legionary (Plural Legionaries) was any person who was a professional soldier in a Roman legion. This is from the lowest recruit (Milite) to the highest field commander (Legate) could all be considered legionaries (You may be crusified if you refered to a Legate as a common legionary though).
A centruion was an officer in the roman legion, generally commanding 100 troops at full strength (thus the nam centurion).
Where my rambeling is going is that the centurion (officer) armour should be stronger/more ornate than the legionary armour.
I am not as good at greek history so can't commento on the tojen/sparten armours.
Wall Mounted Weapons/Shields
This is what I see as the great idea of the mod, howeve the way you go about implenting it could give you troubles. It looks to me as you would require a different spite (as well as block id) for each weapon/shield combination. Now if we just take the default swords and a single shield as an example, that would already require 5x5=25 spite indexes. If you had the 4 shields as well as the 4 weapons on your soldiers above also avaliable that would increase to 9x4x9=324 spites/block ids. Scanning through your post it seems you want to add even more than this, seriosly you have to think of a better way to implementi it.
I actually have a different way of handeling wall mounted weapons (which i will realse when my version is done) so I would rather not tell you my solution now.
Duel Wielding/Shields
Now I will not comment much on this as it may be a bit of a conflict of intrest as my own mod does the same thing. All I want to say is that it is a lot of work to get this done, and really should be thought of a seperate mod in itself. To get it working it took me weeks (if not longer) of studing the code before I even started writing it, I basically had to know minecrafts inventory management, attack routines & item rendering better than my own girlfriend before I even started writing that code.. I even had to release the shields as a tester before my duel wielding, and even then it was quite buggy. So if you really have your heart set on going down that road, make sure you realise the road is long, bumpy and full of pitholes.

You are right i did drift of topic with it but it is because its growing evolution my dear NerdBoy any way how about i change the roman names around? will that suffice? or should i change them completely? i thought i did my research :/ and as for all the sprites u say i will need: i have been pondering this alot and i think i have 2 possible solutions and yes i do want to ad more but what obCore wants, obCore does not always get as for the dual wield: it will be a rocky road but we will get there THANK YOU for popping in man

lastly have a look at an update of the sprites!
EDIT: image is old and outdated.
My Mod Hub (if you want to see what I've done in the past)
EDIT: The swords will be easy - shields might take a little longer, and in between them is the NPCs, which will be done second, I guess.
item sprites updated, ninjas will no have gauntlets instead of shields
