What will the new mobs (rahi) and toa be like? does it work for mac?
Also how much stuff can you fit in this mod? There are a lot of matoran like maybe 12 per village 6 villages that's a lot of matoran! if you would like a list of them with pics i would love to help :smile.gif:.
Hey, I was reading through the first post, and I thought that I might give you a few suggestions, to attract more visitors. Hope this helps! :biggrin.gif:
1.) Use more pictures. This is probably the best way to get more people to download your mod. So far, I only know what protodermis and the Kanohi Hau look like; where are the pictures for the Toa and Matoran?
2.) Use more descriptions. They help to spice up the topic, and give your viewers reasons why they should download the mod. As a potential mod downloader, I can tell you that if I didn't have an extensive background knowledge of the Bionicle Universe, I would not download this mod -- because I would have no idea what anything was. New visitors are probably asking themselves what Matoran are, what Rahi are, what the new tools are, and what Bionicle is in general. Believe me, the average viewer won't be to keen to have to Google what everything is; about three to five sentences about each different feature would be more than enough to keep people reading.
3.) Write clear, concise sentences. For example, in the Masks section, you mentioned Elemental Shards, but there is no section in the post telling me what an elemental shard is.
I hope this helps; I'm not trying to sound rude or mean or anything, but I would really like to help this mod succeed. Good luck in your endeavors! :biggrin.gif:
P.S. The link to Wikipedia is broken.
P.P.S. What is an elemental shard? And how can I get one? :biggrin.gif:
OMG! I've been looking for something like this since I started getting into mods, and finally I find it!
Just tell me if you want Rahi models and/or skins, I'll gladly make some. I can make sprites for items and blocks as well.
Right now I'm too ecstatic to post any suggestions, but when I've calmed down, I'll look more into the actual mod and see if I can come up with something.
EDIT: How much of the story do you plan on including? Quest for the Masks? The Bohrok Swarm? Toa Nuva/Bohrok Kal? Rahkshi/Mask of Light? City of Legends? Web of Shadows? Further?
You know, the kanohi (mask) making process is canonically fusing kanokas (disks) to get the wanted result (can be skipped if kanoka of wanted power is accessible), then molding the kanoka resulting in a kanohi (in minecraft, this would be simply smelting the disk). All kanohi are powerless unless worn by a being able to use its power (with the exception of legendary kanohi).
For the six kanohi in this mod (starting with base powers):
Combinations of 2:
Enlarge kanoka + regeneration kanoka = shielding kanoka = Kanohi Hau
Teleport kanoka + weaken kanoka = levitation kanoka = Kanohi Miru
Teleport kanoka + reconstitute-at-random kanoka = speed kanoka = Kanohi Kakama
Regeneration kanoka + teleport kanoka = X-ray-vision kanoka = Kanohi Akaku
Combinations of 3 (I didn't bother writing "kanoka" this time):
Regeneration + enlarge + removes-poison = strength = Kanohi Pakari
Regeneration + shrink + removes-poison = water breathing = Kanohi Kaukau
For a complete list of known combinations and more info on kanoka, go here
In the mod, it could simply be crafting a powerless kanoka with an elemental shard to get the wanted kanoka, then smelt it to get the wanted kanohi.
I checked out the new version, the guys need to spawn more this time, but in villages. Anyway I will work on a map for that. Also I was thinking, I started work on a Bionicle RPG (it won't be finished for a LONG time) and I have a compiling of creatures I would like to add.
I'm going to try to answer everyones questions at once.
I'm not entirely sure about storyline at the moment.
I try to avoid overly complicated systems, but I do plan on putting the motoran into villages.
Maps are appreciated and may be mentioned.
Toa and motoran currently spawn in a similar way to animals.
I'm not sure about which rahi to add, but I'll take suggestions.
