I think its a good idea but wouldnt it be better off in multiplayer than single player? I think it would be a major time consuming project to start. I mean one of the reasons weve put off the Silurians for a while is because they too are a community based mob/village type system.
I think completing the silurian settlements and mobs would be a stepping stone in the direction of this suggestion as its very similar to the already planned functions of silurians, just takes it 2 steps above..

Why not add a desktop theme changing/TARDIS regenerating feature? As in, in the TARDIS GUI you have an option to change the desktop theme, but this makes it so, A. You get flung to a random planet, which your stuck on for the next day, or B. You are in the burning control room, which gives you 2 options: Sonic the thing 'till it regenerates, or wait it out.
While on the topic of TARDISes, they should grow and expand with time. For example, a basic TARDIS has the control room and the library/swimming pool, but lator, you will get, say, a study. This could be semi-infinite, like normal MC.

Grab your trusty sonic screwdriver, give K-9 the tin robot dog a polish, and travel back in time to the age of the Silurians using "Sexy" herself, The T.A.R.D.I.S. But be careful, there are forces out there that are hell bent on destroying the universe as well as yourself if you stand in their way. Watch out for the genocidal Daleks, the emotionless Cybermen, and the fearsome Weeping Angels, among many more fearsome and terrifying creatures. BASIC KNOWLEDGE:
The TARDIS : (Stands for Time and Relative Dimensions in Space)
A TARDIS is a product of the advanced technology of the Time Lords, an extraterrestrial civilization to which Doctor Who's central character, the Doctor, belongs. A properly maintained and piloted TARDIS can transport its occupants to any point in time and any place in the universe. The interior of a TARDIS is much larger than its exterior, which can blend in with its surroundings using the ship's "chameleon circuit". The Doctor's TARDIS is an obsolete "Type 40 TT capsule" that he unofficially "borrowed" when he departed his home planet of Gallifrey. The Doctor:
The Doctor is a Time Lord, alien from the planet Gallifrey, who travels through time and space in an internally vast time machine called the TARDIS (Time And Relative Dimension(s) In Space). The Doctor explores the universe at random, using his extensive knowledge of science, technology and history (from his perspective) to avert whatever crisis he encounters unless it is a fixed point in time and space. The Sonic Screwdriver:
It is a multifunctional tool used by The Doctor. Its most common function is that of a lockpick, but can be used to perform other operations such as performing medical scans, remotely controlling other devices and tracking alien life. It can, with the exception of a deadlock seal or wooden lock, open any type of lock and operate many computers, whether their origin is alien or human.

So knowing that you now understand the basics about the universe of Doctor Who I will proceed talking with talking about this mod.
This modification is currently in a heavy development stage.
Now what that means is that the mod is currently being developed by our excellent team of Developers. These developers are fans of the show Doctor Who and thus have a great respect for the meaning behind getting this Minecraft Client Mod completed, and completed correctly.
By Completed correctly we mean, we arent going to be rushing out a Incomplete half-***ed version aka pre-release. Just because Mojang has begun to launch pre-releases via Minecraft does not mean it is a good Idea what so ever.
We want it to have the most quality a client mod can have in itself. We want it to be a pleasure to install this mod and play it. If we released a version of this mod and its not completed to our liking and you as the player use the incomplete version, then your client breaks, you would come back to our thread or website angry with us for breaking it.
So bottom line as far as a release will go is that when we have more functionality in the mod other than the TARDIS and the Sonic screwdriver we will open up a small 5-15 slot Alpha testing group . A small group of testers would eliminate any need to rush out a update to the Alpha if something happened. The developers could remain in the same pace of development we prefer and not worry about having an angry mob rushing toward us screaming that things dont work. Or telling us to hurry up and release more features.

Now we know what your thinking. "Minecraft is a never ending sandbox environment game how can you make Minecraft do things the doctor does?!"
Well, the answer to that is very simple. Creativity, dedication and ingenuity are what we are using to create the world of Doctor Who all in the minecraft realm. With our ideas we brainstorm, we develop them future into something that works in game. We then send those ideas to our brilliant team of modelers and coders who then take the ideas and make them flesh and blood (or is it Flesh and Stone?)The Development process has many levels that help ensure the level of quality within the mod is something that you as the player would be excited to play. We want this mod to have a permanent place in your minecraft.jar and be something you sit in school/work thinking about just to get home and turn that computer on and launch the minecraft client to get your Time Lord on..... but of course school and work comes first. *clears throat* Yeahhhh, awkward rambling YAYY.
Now it is time to get the random babbling out of the way and talk about specific features of this mod.

Description: What is Regeneration: It is a process that allows a Time Lord who is old or mortally wounded to undergo a transformation into a new physical form and a somewhat different personality.
Features:
When the player reaches 0 health, regeneration will activate if the player has lives remaining (initially the player will start out with 12 lives). Once regeneration is activated, a few things happen:
Forced into sneak, severe movement decrease, severe look sensitivity lag
In third person rendering will pulsate gold aura (similar to when damaged)
Health bar turns into golden heart outlines, this is the regeneration percentage. One golden heart corresponds to 0.25 of a normal heart. The gHeart value will increase at the same rate as health regeneration on peacefull until full, hunger will be severely hit.
The player can receive normal damage during regeneration
When 10 gHearts are reached, the player will stop regenerating, and will have a total of 2.5 normal hearts

Description: Cybermen are a "race" of cybernetically augmented humanoid. They varied greatly in design, with different factions throughout time and space. The two major groups, from which all other known versions derived, were the Mondasian Cybermen, which originated on the planet Mondas – Earth's twin planet in the Doctor's Universe – and the Cybermen created by Cybus Industries, which originated on Earth in an alternate universe.
Despite the different origins, there were similarities between both groups of Cybermen, and there were groups that shared the characteristics of both. For the most part, they lacked individuality or names. Cybermen had no emotions and viewed them as a weakness. They frequently attempted to physically and mentally re-engineer humans and other humanoids into Cybermen, via a process called "cyber-conversion" or "upgrading". Features/Combat:
Squad System
Cyber Leader is part of the commanding squad (marked by the golden color chestplate), he then converts enough resourses. The desired effect is a dynamically sized army, functioning mostly as a whole.
"Smart" Targeting
Due to the usage of a squad system, smart targeting becomes feasible. This means that if ANY member of the army recognizes a target, it adds it to its squads target list. The squad broadcasts this enemy to all sub-squads. If a squad runs out of things to attack, it asks it's leader for some more.
The second part of smart targeting, is that each target is assigned a priority. When a unit asks it's squad for a target, the squad responds with the highest priority enemy. The act of giving a unit a new target, removes some of the targets priority. This is why you will see different squads attacking different targets when in large masses. This particular feature is still a bit rough around the edges.
Baby Adipose: Description:
Baby Adipose are hand-sized, marshmallow-shaped beings, composed almost entirely of fat. They have two eyes and a mouth, two arms with webbed hands and two stumpy legs as well as a habit to giggle.
Features:
Baby Adipose eat the nutrients in pollen
Wander and collect the pollen from flowers for nutrition.
Pouch like orifice containing collected pollen before consumption.
Combat
:
Approaching a baby adipose they drop pollen.
Niave and scared
No threat to the player

If you approach one with a piece of meat and proceed to give the adipose that piece of meat, your vision and movement will lock, the adipose will have a dance party and spawn more of itself behind you. The newly spawned adipose will join the dance party. After a minute of this, they will slowly approach the player and start to eat him (pitch unlocks at this point). Description:
The Ood were a peaceful herd-race originally. In the 39th century, humanity discovered the Ood, enslaved them, and used them to perform menial tasks throughout the intergalactic slave trade in the three galaxies of the Second Great and Bountiful Human Empire. The external hindbrain of the Ood was extracted by Ood Operations and replaced with their translator globes. With their connection of the Ood Brain severed, they followed the orders of humans. Ood Operations kept this procedure a secret from the rest of humanity, spreading the belief that the Ood were naturally servile and offered themselves for slavery
(Modified Version of Weeping Angel mod originally created by a_dizzle): Description:
The Weeping Angels ar a species of winged humanoids from the early universe, so called because they covered their faces, giving them a weeping appearance, to prevent trapping themselves in stone form for eternity. Features/Combat/Mechanics:
Spawn rate of 5% (Rare).
The Weeping Angel will freeze when seen within FOV
(This FOV is locked to a specific value and does not change with minecraft options.. yet).
When not seen will run towards the player; various movement the creature make will be based on if it is aggroed or not and the distance between the player and creature.
When it is not day or if the angel is in a cave with a light source, the angel will try to remove it to create darkness which enables the angel to attack and move towards the player even if the player is looking at the creature (Light level < 0).
When the creature is looked at directly, the player will be de buffed which will last for a short period of time. This debuf will cause the player to walk slowly. (As if it has turned to stone)
A weeping angel has a 1 in 30 chance on hit of teleporting the player, when this happens on attack it will teleport the player in a 200 block radius; either above the ground or in a cave.
They can be killed by using a iron pickaxe (Normal difficulty) or a diamond pickaxe (Hard difficulty).

Range of sonic wave 1-3 meters
The Mark VI sonic screwdriver does have a mode to activate the Creeper hostile mod from a maximum range of 5 meters away.
On Redstone:
- The Mark VI Sonic Screwdriver can provide power to a Redstone wire normally from a maximum distance of 10 meters away.
- Redstone wire powered by the sonic screwdriver for 8 seconds will break and drop redstone dust.
- The Sonic Screwdriver has the ability to power blocks that need energy pulse to activate (pistons, dispensers,etc.)
- The Sonic Screwdriver has the ability to open (Doors(iron), chests,etc)
- Can open iron doors from a maximum distance of 10 meters away.
- The sonic screwdriver does not open wooden (doors, hatches, fence gates,etc)
- The Sonic Screwdriver can activate/unlock everything that is not deadlock sealed, or wood.
- The Sonic Screwdriver can disarm explosive devices (tnt, alien weaponry, etc)
- If an item has been exposed to the effects of a Sonic Screwdriver with out proper technique the item will be crushed or pulverized due to sonic vibrations (frequency.)
- The Sonic Screwdriver doesn't kill, doesn't injure and doesn't maim.
- Pollen from flowers are essentially food for many animals but is most notably consumed by baby Adipose. Each Different Kind of Pollen has different effect on a humanoid bodied entity. This can range from a small healing power to a mind altering state. Be careful to pay attention to which color pollen you collect. Pollen can be found in any Flower in any biome on normal or alien worlds.
Amber Pollen: Healing Properties (explain more)
Cadmium Pollen : The Physical effect on the player is a mind altering effect that alters the players feild of view, health and hunger bar.
Fuchsia Pollen: The Physical effect on the player is a mind altering effect that alters the players feild of view, health and hunger bar. The closest Earthly equvilant would be a "Wild Mushroom Trip."
A mineral found only in tops of mountains at high altitude. It can be used to power a weapon that can stun any mob/electronic device for a legnth of rough 25 redstone pulse ticks.
Jethrik
An extremely valuable mineral. A small piece can power any electronic device (k9,sonic,Dalek weapons,cyber conversion chairs,etc etc)

We are looking for suggestions for specific TARDIS rooms, Mobs, and GUI Interphases.
RULES:
1) Must not have been suggested before. Please read through the backlog of pages to see if something has been suggested or use the search option.
2) These suggestions may come from any of the four Doctor Who Universe shows, (Doctor Who -Classic or Modern, Sarah Jane Adventures, Torchwood, and K9)
3) The suggestions may also come from any Whoniverse related content, books, games, graphic novels, comic strips, etc.
4) The suggestions must contain clear structure and shape along with a plan of action as to how they can be adapted to the sandbox nature of minecraft.
5) MUST NOT be purely story driven. (No creature will be added unless they are naturally occurring and not a single entity, (the master, the devil, the raxicoricofallipitorians, are all examples of what not to look for)
6) Mobs may come from both Classic Doctor Who or Modern Doctor Who (and the 3 other spin-off shows) , mobs must also be naturally occurring and not a specific sentient race such as the Sontarns, Slitheen/Raxicoricofallipitorians, or other species that can think for themeselves. We are looking for mobs that would occur in nature of alien planets.

since i've just read the last several pages, a response to certain comments would be outdated. so i'll just say this: stop rickrolling us, tiki. you're a complete ass and not showing any attempt at hiding or denying it. iking, i still see the very occasional time when you should steady your tongue. and new members or those who have just found the thread, read the op and always know the past 5-10 pages before commenting. that is very simple net-manners.
and relating to the mod: i liked the suggestion someone gave about humans. the best way imo to implement it is to have different general places and points in time. some ideas that i've already stated but i think should be brought up again:
zombie apocalypse (default minecraft, humans hiding in caves or mc-style houses)
futuristic (new earth or something similar, cat people would just be skinned differently if new earth)
modern (life as it is today, cities and other settlement types)
roman times (should be enough info on how they live in history books)
colonies (just on any other planet)
i had some other time-specific places that i've forgotten. oh well! :tongue.gif:

this is a video we recorded about a month ago with the old GUI control system before the tardis interior was completed. The block you see at the beginning is a control block. those are being phased out for a real live working screen on the tardis console

The Doctor explores the universe at random, using his extensive knowledge of science, technology and history (from his perspective) to avert whatever crisis he encounters unless it is a fixed point in time and space.
The Sonic Screwdriver:
It is a multifunctional tool used by The Doctor. Its most common function is that of a lockpick, but can be used to perform other operations such as performing medical scans, remotely controlling other devices and tracking alien life. It can, with the exception of a deadlock seal or wooden lock, open any type of lock and operate many computers, whether their origin is alien or human.

So knowing that you now understand the basics about the universe of Doctor Who I will proceed talking with talking about this mod.
This modification is currently in a heavy development stage.
Now what that means is that the mod is currently being developed by our excellent team of Developers. These developers are fans of the show Doctor Who and thus have a great respect for the meaning behind getting this Minecraft Client Mod completed, and completed correctly.
By Completed correctly we mean, we arent going to be rushing out a Incomplete half-***ed version aka pre-release. Just because Mojang has begun to launch pre-releases via Minecraft does not mean it is a good Idea what so ever.
We want it to have the most quality a client mod can have in itself. We want it to be a pleasure to install this mod and play it. If we released a version of this mod and its not completed to our liking and you as the player use the incomplete version, then your client breaks, you would come back to our thread or website angry with us for breaking it.
So bottom line as far as a release will go is that when we have more functionality in the mod other than the TARDIS and the Sonic screwdriver we will open up a small 5-15 slot Alpha testing group . A small group of testers would eliminate any need to rush out a update to the Alpha if something happened. The developers could remain in the same pace of development we prefer and not worry about having an angry mob rushing toward us screaming that things dont work. Or telling us to hurry up and release more features.
Ok now that that's out of the way we can talk a little about the team of awesome people making this mod a reality.

The Modification
So now that you know what the show is about and the people that are bringing the show to minecraft, we can talk about the actual client modification and its features itself.
We would like to inform all the people interested in the mod at its current stage that this mod is still undergoing very heavy development.
This means that we are working very hard on creating new content and finishing up existing content that is either not what we want it to be or malfunctioning in some capacity. We like to believe that you as loyal members of the mod understand this and will bear with us as we work out the kinks that need to be well... EXTERMINATED.
OK now that thats out of the way, (yes another thing we needed to get out of the way,) we can talk about this mod.
The Doctor Who Client Mod - sponsored by iKings Stargate Coalition™, is a minecraft client mod that brings the world of Doctor Who to the world of minecraft.
Now we know what your thinking. "Minecraft is a never ending sandbox environment game how can you make Minecraft do things the doctor does?!"
Well, the answer to that is very simple. Creativity, dedication and ingenuity are what we are using to create the world of Doctor Who all in the minecraft realm. With our ideas we brainstorm, we develop them future into something that works in game. We then send those ideas to our brilliant team of modelers and coders who then take the ideas and make them flesh and blood (or is it Flesh and Stone?)The Development process has many levels that help ensure the level of quality within the mod is something that you as the player would be excited to play. We want this mod to have a permanent place in your minecraft.jar and be something you sit in school/work thinking about just to get home and turn that computer on and launch the minecraft client to get your Time Lord on..... but of course school and work comes first. *clears throat* Yeahhhh, awkward rambling YAYY.

If you approach one with a piece of meat and proceed to give the adipose that piece of meat, your vision and movement will lock, the adipose will have a dance party and spawn more of itself behind you. The newly spawned adipose will join the dance party. After a minute of this, they will slowly approach the player and start to eat him (pitch unlocks at this point). - Pollen from flowers are essentially food for many animals but is most notably consumed by baby Adipose. Each Different Kind of Pollen has different effect on a humanoid bodied entity. This can range from a small healing power to a mind altering state. Be careful to pay attention to which color pollen you collect. Pollen can be found in any Flower in any biome on normal or alien worlds.

Things in this section have been confirmed to be added, but may be amended in such way that changes the original idea at any time. This may also include removal of the feature for any period of time.
Reasons for these features not being in the above confirmed section:
We are looking for suggestions for specific TARDIS rooms, Mobs, and GUI Interphases.
RULES:
1) Must not have been suggested before. Please read through the backlog of pages to see if something has been suggested or use the search option.
2) These suggestions may come from any of the four Doctor Who Universe shows, (Doctor Who -Classic or Modern, Sarah Jane Adventures, Torchwood, and K9)
3) The suggestions may also come from any Whoniverse related content, books, games, graphic novels, comic strips, etc.
4) The suggestions must contain clear structure and shape along with a plan of action as to how they can be adapted to the sandbox nature of minecraft.
5) MUST NOT be purely story driven. (No creature will be added unless they are naturally occurring and not a single entity, (the master, the devil, the raxicoricofallipitorians, are all examples of what not to look for)
6) Mobs may come from both Classic Doctor Who or Modern Doctor Who (and the 3 other spin-off shows) , mobs must also be naturally occurring and not a specific sentient race such as the Sontarns, Slitheen/Raxicoricofallipitorians, or other species that can think for themeselves. We are looking for mobs that would occur in nature of alien planets.

since i've just read the last several pages, a response to certain comments would be outdated. so i'll just say this: stop rickrolling us, tiki. you're a complete ass and not showing any attempt at hiding or denying it. iking, i still see the very occasional time when you should steady your tongue. and new members or those who have just found the thread, read the op and always know the past 5-10 pages before commenting. that is very simple net-manners.
and relating to the mod: i liked the suggestion someone gave about humans. the best way imo to implement it is to have different general places and points in time. some ideas that i've already stated but i think should be brought up again:
zombie apocalypse (default minecraft, humans hiding in caves or mc-style houses)
futuristic (new earth or something similar, cat people would just be skinned differently if new earth)
modern (life as it is today, cities and other settlement types)
roman times (should be enough info on how they live in history books)
colonies (just on any other planet)
i had some other time-specific places that i've forgotten. oh well! :tongue.gif:

this is a video we recorded about a month ago with the old GUI control system before the tardis interior was completed. The block you see at the beginning is a control block. those are being phased out for a real live working screen on the tardis console
