Biome Idea
Soulsand Desert: It adds dark cactus and a desert of soul sand.
Other Ideas
Netherrack Furnace: Does not use any fuel but coal,weakwood,lava. Smelts faster than normal furnace by 2x.
Weakwood Crafting Table: Nothing Special... just for a nether crafting table.
Mob Ideas
Bulk Demons: Can't fly higher than 10 blocks but make up for it in strength do 8 hearts of damage and send you flying.
Warrior Demons: Use netherran swords as there weapon they swoop down to attack they do 5 hearts of damage and can guard ranged attacks.
Demon Archer: Have bows and fly in closer if your not looking shoot fire arrow that will set you on fire.
Netherhound: A bigger version of a wolf but only it's a blood red tone with orange markings and can be tamed by steak only.
I was thinking more along the lines of bloodstone furnace. It could be crafted like so:
Bvb
Gfg
Ooo
B:bloodstone
V:bloodstone furnace
G:gold ingot
F:furnace
O:obsidian

400 determines the amount of time the entity is on fire. I don't know the exact amount based on time, so you'd need to experiment. Lower values only keep them alight for less time.
I Relize That Water Part wasnt a Good idea for the Nether, But If You CAN Make it (Not forcing you to) you should make a Rare Dungeon with chests that Sometimes have The Water? Because Other Then that I Dont really have any other ideas where Would fit in with :Lava:(LOVE The Mod! Played it Hardcore.)

I have an idea! You can make water out of ghst tears
I have an idea! You can make water out of ghst tears
I think ghast tears aren't an actual liquid but moreso a connection to how a ghast looks; a ghast always looks like it is crying, so it drops a tear-shaped stone. I could be wrong though, I am not sure if notch has gone with either lol.
Water is not going to happen any time soon, because having Water in the nether seems a bit odd. I do wanna experiment with it, but it is probably not in the near future.
In other news, I am not going to update until MCP for Minecraft 1.0 is out (and then ModLoader/ ModLoaderMp). Once it is you can expect an "upgrade-update" that won't add anything new just makes it runnable in MC 1.0. And then an update to be able to craft nether brick among other things that I feel needed to be added lol.
You made a very nice mod, this makes possible to try to survive as the Nether was your homeworld. I like this mod. Anyway, is this compatible with the Mine Up mod?
how about for the nether serpent you make so you can summon him lets say some with some kind trophy that looks like a serpent after that when you kill some enemy's with i don't know a scythe from the nether then it allows you to collect their souls you can fuse it with the serpent trophy and when you use it it will summon the serpent as a boss kind of like the enderdragon also for attack the serpent will try tackling you but after three times he will just raise his head and throw fireballs in a 360 in a attempt to get you

I would assume so since I didn't edit any main classes.

What I have planned is you fight him in a dungeon of sorts, and his attacks might/probably will be:
-open his mouth and hit you with fireballs or, if I can find a way to code it, flamethrower, maybe both.
-ram you with his head if your too close.
-if I manage to get animation working (currently it *works* but it's hardly ideal atm), some other fun surprises.
To damage to him would take some work but if I can do it, you'd have to hit his head and it would only work if you hit it when his mouth was open.
He'll be in a pool of lava, maybe have fire particles.
He probably will have a unqiue drop, what it will be I don't know, but it would have to be something incredibly powerful.
EDIT: If anyone is animation-savvy with minecraft, please PM me as I probably will need some help with it. My current method is kind of primitive.
I will be taking a break on the serpent until I can get a good animation agorithm. (or MCP for MC 1.0 comes out)
In the mean time I am working on a little treat:
(pretend the fences are netheran, this is still 1.8.1 :tongue.gif:)
:smile.gif:
A few questions:
I can't tell, the one that is pwered is on, the one on the floor that isn't powered is off, and the two on the fence posts are on. How do you turn them on and off?
And when will you update? modloader is updated.
Is this going to be forge? If so 5 diamonds for you

You could make a poll about whether a ghast tear is an actual liquid or a tear shaped stone

Glowstone Lanterns (that's thier name) have a unqiue setup:
If not connected to redstone, they can be turned on/off by right clicking.
If connected to redstone, it is turned off or on by said redstone. (if you right click while in a redstone curcuit it will still change but it does not change it's output from the redstone. No redstone power always = no light, and vise versa.
You could make a poll about whether a ghast tear is an actual liquid or a tear shaped stone
And at any rate I am not going to make a ghast tear liquid, stone or not, because any non-lava liquid wouldn't make sense in the Nether.
Speaking of polls, adding two about Minecraft Forge and Audiomod. Been wanting to see this for awhile now...
PROS(MCForge):
-infinite block IDs/sprite indecies, meaning no limits on new blocks. (nearing a reasonable limit for a compatible mod)
-infinite items -- -- -- ditto. (not as big a problem)
-possibly more hooks which == easier and more flexible modding while still being compatible.
CONS(MCForge):
-extra thing to download, since it needs modloader to work. -possibley no SMP support(not sure if it supports it, someone tell me if they can!) Just checked, it DOES have SMP support!
PROS(AudioMod):
-custom sounds for any new mobs I make (Spindel was a clever tweak of wolf sounds :tongue.gif:)
-custom music maybe?
CONS(AudioMod):
-yet another thing to download.
So my question is: Do I use Audiomod, use MCForge, both, or neither, and why.
EDIT: I think it's a glitch but for some reason it's keeping the votes from before :/

Epic! Outdated(but not by much!) but it's cool nethertheless. Added :biggrin.gif:
it's rather simple:
This tells it that when it hits an EntityLiving to set it alight. setOnFireFromLava simply sets fire to 400. It's the same as:
400 determines the amount of time the entity is on fire. I don't know the exact amount based on time, so you'd need to experiment. Lower values only keep them alight for less time.

i think they would fit the nether theme pretty good
This is too much like ghasts, also blaze are technically this since they ARE only heads and rods...and are on fire...

Maybe you could make domething like the loz floating skull things that appear in wind waker and ocarina of time and I *think* majoras mask
You could make a poll about whether a ghast tear is an actual liquid or a tear shaped stone
This has the same problem as the DOOM skulls, although it'd be cool it isn't practical.
