wow dude looks like you have alot of work to do then XD BUt seriously love all the ideas cant' wait to see them come out and see all the digimon
Oh indeed.
I have quite a bit of schoolwork to do before Tuesday, but if I get it all done in a relatively timely manner, I intend to start cracking down hard on some models this week.
Still though. I encourage other people to send in their contributions like Mr. Omg is >.>
Actually,
I'm going to take suggestions.
I'm going to take the first seven suggestions, and then put them up for a poll. The one with the most votes will get included in the game along with the ones currently planned.
Glad to see you guys are hard at work and I appreciate that. So excited about this mod. Cyan, great post on the plans for this mod. I love getting info like that. The virus idea is superb. Another option for the digimon to come is to work the 9 digieggs if you wanted to keep it as much related to the show I guess you could use the digi eggs for those specific digivolves, but if you wanted an easy way to transform digimon into higher forms that usually wouldn't just from digivolving and not from the virus you plan to use, use the eggs for any form you guys assign to it. Would be a nice touch to see those in the mod. I agree that the original story line baby and rookie pokemon should be first and then expand onwards. With digimon creators adding sooooo many ranks and forms you guys have your work cut out, so I would deffinately do rank by rank of each digimon you guys want in. Your line up in your post above looks very nice for that. Keep up the hard work you 2, can't wait for the release.
Oh, just thought of another option for the digivolves. You guys could create a digivice to allow the digivolves to happen. Unlike pokemon, digimon can turn back into any of their forms so maybe with the digivice that could allow you to morph them in battle if they need it? and then change them to another form when not in battle. Idk that's something for you guys to think about for the way future :laugh.gif: Can't wait to see the upcoming model pics.

:biggrin.gif: Makes me happy to see this.
I'll try to map out as many things as possible. I have any ideas swarming about in my head, and I am constantly trying to mix them together to come up with something that could be implemented.
I'm..not too sure what you mean by the 9 eggs. Do you mean the armor eggs? If so, I have considered those, I'm just trying to figure out where they might fit in. That may come later on. The virus was just the first example that came to me, I'm sure I will have many more by then. Baha.
You bring up a good point about the digivolving though. I *think* Tyler is working on a way to have them be able to change forms based on preference(after you get them to the appropriate level, of course.) The digivices are used currently for taming/storing the digimon though at the moment. I do believe that digimon should require more than just levels to evolve though.
For instance,
In-training-->Rookie at level 11. No further requirements
Rookie----->Champion at level 22. Needs a requirement(Still brainstorming here, people throw out suggestions!)
Champion--->Ultimate at level 33. Requires a specific crest. Based on what we assign like you were saying about the eggs ^^
Ultimate------->Mega at level 44. Not sure here either. Will probably require a "glowing" digivice. (Think Season 1, where when they digivolve to mega, the digivice is shown glowing the color of the crest sort of.) I'm thinking that to make this, you will probably have to combine whatever requirement we come up with for the champion level, along with the crest to make.
I hope to make these things like tools aswell, so they will break over time. I think it would only be appropriate to make them semi-hard to make also, to keep it from being TOO easy for people to have a lot of digimon right off the bat. I promise we won't make it too rough though :smile.gif:
I think thats about as far as my plotting will go for tonight, so now for an update:
I..had a fight with the Biyomon model, so I took a break from trying to make it, and moved on. What came out of this? Well,
I made a BlackAgumon model for future use(because, retexturing is easy :tongue.gif:)
I also got Motimon and Tanemon ready, and the textures is the only thing left to do for them. I have a lot of school work to get done tomorrow as I may have mentioned earlier, but if I get done with it on time, I'll put up the pictures of those 3 finished Digimon tomorrow on my photobucket album for people to see(via main page)
So, for the poll, we currently have:
The Guilmon line,
and
The Shoutmon line(Or what little there is to it. Because at this point it will be only Shoutmon->Omegashoutmon >.>)
So thats only 2. Taking the next 5 requests for the poll for people to vote on!
I think, I may start working on one champion level digimon too, for when I get bored/frustrated with the others.
I'm thinking..Greymon or Angemon. Which should I tinker with?
for the requirement of the champ make it umm maybe you have to feed it something since normally nothing too special about going to champ
yeah ultimate should require a crast and for mega yeah make it require like an upgraded digivice where you craft it together with multiple crests so like 8 it will need one of each crest around it and a normal digivice in the middle so you get a reason for different crests.
Also maybe of you can make it so that each crest will only work for certain digimon makes it more challenging and each time you digivolve it uses one crest but devolving requires no crest.
Also about shoutmon well yeah but alot of digimon dont have full lines so its not like he's the only one lol

1. Yes, the armor eggs could either be used the specific digimon they normally would evolve or you could use them as items to evolve certain ranks maybe, however I do love the crest idea and the glowing digivice you have planned.
2. Glad to see the digivices were already thought of and being used!
3. I do love the crest idea and the glowing digivice you have planned. I can't really think of any item that would be used to evolve the rookies to champions other than maybe a card of some sort. Single block but thinned out with the texture on it? Make several of these maybe. The "tool" idea for the rarer items is brilliant and when making the recipies for these, possibly have specific ore or another type of block that is rare similar to diamonds in the game.
4. Yay you're productive even with bored of it :laugh.gif: , but don't get overloaded with this stuff. We can wait til it's ready on your terms.
5. You are making a lot of my favorite digimon already, but one that is mis looked that I remember a lot from the games as a kid was terriermon-the bunny looking digimon with long ears. If you wanted to add it's in-training form it's gummymon, but I'd like to see terriermon if you want to add to the poll.
6. Angemon all the way!!
-Oh! Just thought of something after re reading the first page. You are wondering about drops from digimon, what if when digimon kill one another they drop orbs similar to 1.8 where if a player kills something they get those orbs and level up. I expect they will already get experience from killing digimon, but once at rank rookie trying to become champion have it take a while longer rather than just killing digimon to level up and instead use the orbs altered for the digimon rather than the player from other digimon to rank them up. Not sure how difficult this would be to put into coding, but just an idea.
I can't really think of any item that would be used to evolve the rookies to champions other than maybe a card of some sort.
O_O
I think you're on to something..
And I'll add the Terriermon line to the list.
And...the orbs is an interesting idea. Although I am not sure how hard it would be to make them seperate for the digimon. We may have to tinker and adjust that as we go.
Oh! And yes. I do intend to have the different items require a bit of different ore and such. Probably start out with having it as stuff already in game, maybe change it to new ones if we think adding some might be neccessary.
So, I played around a bit more with the mod today everyone,
I think you all will like the Digivice gui. It's pretty nifty. Giant kudos to Tyler with that :smile.gif:
oh XD I just thought of something I was rereading the posts when I red about what should the digimon drop why not make they drop crests but maybe at a bit of low drop rate but this will make it so you don't have to add oars which I really don't like with mods most times. So yeah there's an idea for dropping crests
OH wait even better idea how about rookies drop cards and champs drop crests thus you must kill previous lvs of the digimon to acquire the next

I was thinking more along the lines of having the digimon drop items that would be required to make things such as cards, crests, etc.
I like the idea of digimon dropping items used and digimon eggs should randomly be like a block that get automatically get placed when the digimon dies but it only happens rarely you use your digivice to catch and put the digiegg in your digivice and then have like a setting that you can change and then set it to digiegg and then you right click the ground and then you can wait like one minecraft month for it to hatch or you can give it digi data chips to make it hatch faster
