Do the sounds have to be the name of the digimon or just a noise suiting the digimon?
Since audio of some of the digimon would actually be quite hard to acquire, noise suiting them would be just fine.
One of the hard things about making audio for things that actually talk in the apperances they make :tongue.gif:
I can do that then it won't be hard I'll just put them all into like a word document and pm it to you
Interesting. Yeah, PM so we can go further into discussing this.
I apologize to everyone. We seem to be having a problem with our other coder at the moment(aka, haven't heard from him in a week),
which has put us back a little. So uh..If you happen to like coding, and are good with GUIs and/or items..
You should leave a little tidbit of information about yourself so I can talk to you more about joining us!
:smile.gif:
you must add renumon she was my favorite cause shes a ninja
I shall add it to the list for the special guest digimon that will make it in the first round!
Which makes that,
Guilmon line
Shoutmon line
Terriermon line
Veemon line
Renamon line
2 more and they get put up to decide which shall be implemented along with the other 8 first!
Hey guys, I've been checking by each day seeing the progress. Models look great and the video sneak peaks were awesome. It sucks you guys are at a stump so hopefully a coder interested will show up soon. Recently I started looking into how to create mods to get an idea what you guys go through and how difficult some of the processes are when adding features to the mod. I've found info and understand the basics such as adding items/recipies/blocks/npcs and all that good stuff. I'm lost on how you guys go beyond that. From what I understand the coding is altering of the existing minecraft files to create your own objects or using the code guideline and filling it in with your created files. Am I right? Are the code guidelines in Mcp {what I've been looking at to learn} java coding or Mojang guidelines? Just wondering so maybe I could get a java coding book to further my knowledge in this interest. I'm really interested on how to go beyond the basics and make items do specific things rather than making it like an axe or something, mobs transforming into other mobs, etc.
I came here because maybe with the down time I could get a little insight. Also all my questions I seem to relate to the making of this mod. For example, the digivice transforming the mobs when clicked on or however it is set up or how the mobs go from the in training forms to rookie forms. Tyler you do a real good job at this and was wondering if I could get a brief explanation. How could a modder go about making mobs or the player transform, or possibly an item transform that said mob/player? Also was wondering how you could add features such as abilities like you have with Gabumon. (Do those have to be used with items already in minecraft? or could you create your own "ability" with w/e graphic you chose?) More importantly though I've been wondering how you make items do more than just a basic axe/sword/shovel/pickaxe. The digivice is a perfect example of this. Is there a reference site for code guidelines for additional features rather than the basics? Everything seems to follow a specific layout.
Any help I could get is well appreciated and sorry if this falls off the digimobs topic, but for what I plan on doing this seems to be a good spot. It was a lot to ask so any info anyone feels like giving, thanks. This is purely out of interest and possibly a mod I could create for myself to practice coding, not to re create any of this mod.

Hey there. I thought I would give you as much imput as possible. I am not much of a coder though, so all the technical stuff I can't really answer
(Yet. I am minoring in computer science, so expect me to get to coding..eventually!)
I have dabbled with it a little though. I can tell you that everything is done in Java, although for the most part, Minecraft only uses a certain amount of different codes, unless you get into the more advanced junk. I would suggest taking a look at some of the tutorials in the tutorial section. A lot of them are pretty good. Youtube is also a good place to go. That's how I even figured out how to do models and textures :tongue.gif:
Uh..let's see..what else.
The attack for Gabumon is one already in game, used by the snowmen I do believe. Although you can create custom attacks. I haven't dabbled in that yet, but I am considering it to make the digimon more unique. Digivice is done similarly to the other tools, just with a digivice texture and such.
A lot of modding I have come to see, just involves the current code for mobs/items/blocks/etc with a few changes, and then brand new models and textures.
Granted, there is much more than can be done with advanced knowledge, but that's as far as I can go.
I may have to update this later if I missed anything. I am on my phone at the moment and can't really check much. I'll answer anymore questions,if you have them, later!
Ok well first off i use ModLoader which makes it possible to edit almost none of notchs files.
To be honest i dont know much Java, the fact i know other languages makes it easy.
Its not really easy to explain it because i dont know what you know and what you dont :sad.gif:
btw to evolve i use setEntityDead();
then
EntityDigimon digimon = new EntityKoromon(worldObj);
digimon.setPosition(ModLoader.getMinecraftInstance().thePlayer.posX,ModLoader.getMinecraftInstance().thePlayer.posY,ModLoader.getMinecraftInstance().thePlayer.posZ);
worldObj.entityJoinedWorld(digimon);
or something along the lines
^^ Thanks so much guys for the quick responses. Basically from what I've seen from in depth tutorials I've learned the basics. Bringing any items/mobs/recipies and all that stuff into the game. I just need to dabble with how to make created items or altered versions of current items do specific things I want. With it all being java coding I might as well get a book to look into maybe what I'm trying to accomplish. My plans for trying out a first creation mod is going to be through modloader with MCP, so being a newbie I have a lot to learn. With the digivice though, it is set up like a normal tool? If so how did you set up so it could click a mob and perform the action you want?
Oh yeah, Cyan I picked up Techne after watching many youtube vids so after much practice maybe I'll be contributing models, Yay! Just got it though so it may be a while.

Excellent.
Now..If only you could learn how to do GUIs..
:tongue.gif:
Update: I have refinished Biyomon. It actually..looks like Biyomon now :biggrin.gif: I think I have put a lot more effort honestly in this one, so I hope to keep up that trend. Not that I think my other models were lazy by any means. This one just has a lot more detail to it, and I think I managed to get it all in there. Now then..To decide between doing Tentomon or Patamon next..
Oh! I will put up pictures of Biyomon once I get her textured.
Still need that audio person and another coder! >.>

i think you should do tentamon bcz he was one of my favorite digimon growing up :biggrin.gif:
1. Gatomon is already on the "to be done" list. It will come with the champion forms.
2. There are no current plans to make it SMP, as neither of us really have any knowledge of the SMP stuff. Now if someone wanted to help us with that...
3. I plan to add in other forms of digivolution eventually. Just trying to get the basics down at the moment though. Granted, Biomerging might not be possible regardless..
Gladly accepting help though. Moreso leaning towards a coder at the moment though. However, you can PM and we can talk more indepth if you really want to help.
