Get Thread ownership of you can and rebuild. if you can't get the thread make a new one and link to it. based on him saying he left you in charge here citric can probably transfer ownership.

I can't help you guys at all with this, but i do have to say that this is a great idea for a mod. I hope you guys get this up and running good. I will certainly download it when it is finished.
