* This is a design decision, but I for one would prefer player controls disabled while the craft is activated. Yes, this would mean I couldn't walk around my craft like a boss while I'm en route to my destination. Yes, this means I can't play paratrooper. Still, I can think of numerous reasons why you'd want it this way:
Disagree with this one, makes amazing huge ships with tons of room FAR less fun to fly in.

Check out my minecraft tools, mods, or maybe my website! I've got tons of applications (both minecraft related and not) which some of you may find useful. Thanks!
Hey, I may know why glowstone and torches dont work while moving.
I remember hearing about Notch not having moving lights, because he'd tested them, and they crashed the game, so they might not work because of that. I dunno, just thought it might help.
Sweet, it is pretty cool! The only thing I would say to improve on is the blocks that are recognized, harder crafting recipe, and increasing the craft size!
Wow, what a fantastic mod. This is some really great work. Hopefully with some tweaks and cleanup this could eventually be added to the game in some form. I'm looking forward to seeing what you do for "ships" that start in the water.
I know some players are not interested in game balance but I would suggest the following:
-Separate the "Engine" that defines the ship boundaries from the control of the ship
-Add a "Steering Wheel" block that when used gives the player control and uses standard controls
-Limit the materials used to wood type blocks, glass and wool, exclude cobble again.
-Add a recipe that prevents it from being used too early in the game
-In the future perhaps have recipes for either a ship engine or the airship engine
For the engine block I would suggest a Piston surrounded by red-stone and iron, perhaps gold for airships. The steering wheel could be cheaper, perhaps only planks and sticks, since it would have decorative purposes as well. It could basically be a wooden lever and look like an old rudder.
I know some people would disagree with me that most materials should be excluded but I think having a "magic" engine could cover the case where you want to create a floating island that drives around.
I'm still blown away by the quality of this first release. Seems like there are already tons of people coming up with creative uses such as elevators and monorails. I think I'll try to build the glass elevator from Willy Wonka.
How 'bout making the default controls with the arrow keys and the pageup pagedown keys?
Or even better. make a properties file, because the options menu is full, and there's no slider to see all the options.

Has anyone sent Notch a message about this mod?
I'm sure someone has by now.. He NEEDS to see this! I cannot imagine why this wouldn't be made official, it's so amazing.
This is WAY more important for Notch to add into the official game, than Pistons were. Especially if he goes through with, and finishes the SkyLands type maps/dimension.
Imagine building Air Ships on a skylands map, in Multiplayer, as part of the official game!
I am getting really ****ing pissed. WHY WONT THIS WORK?!
I put the Zeppelin folder in the mods folder, and the class file in the Minecraft.jar. The only mods I have are ModLoader, Too Many Items, and Single Player Commands. What am I doing wrong?
Once I open Minecraft it's just a black screen. Then a error log appears so fast you can't even read it then the entire program closes. Oh the Meta folder is gone, and all my crap is fully updated. I think....
Great mod but can definatly be improved. The one bug that take all the fun out of this for me is the one where you move through the zeppelin's walls when it is turning. That makes flying these not very fun, as you are moving very slow to stay on the zeppelin. This could be stopped with another block that comes with the mod. This new block would be a special pilots chair you sit in on the zeppelin that keeps you still and you would only be able to pilot the zeppelin if you are in this chair. When SMP comes some passengers chairs would be needed so multiple people could be on the zeppelin at the same time without trouble. These new blocks would make this mod far more user friendly, fun, and better in general.

You don't put anything in the jar. It's loaded externally by ModLoader. Just download the zip and drop it in .minecraft/mods
As for the error message, you should be able to read .minecraft/ModLoader.txt.
1.Open The Folder
2.Drag In All Items In To minecraft.jar
3.Download Modloader
4.Open Modloader
5.Drag All Items In To minecraft.jar
6.Open Minecraft
(Never Crash For Me)
A bit of a misshap I encountered. XD
Its a wicked cool mod though.
Haha, same thing happened to me as well! I was running after my airship and at one point it just vanished into thin air right before my eyes. I thought it was gone for good, but a few minutes later I saw it circling again before it vanished once more... weird. It also halfway clipped through a mountain at one point.

I think the recipe should be:
IRI
ISI
II I
I=Iron Block
R=Redstone
S=Wooden Stick (steering wheel duh)
Was that a pun since he died? Lol
And all of my fences on 1.7.3.0.2 are totally solid and collidable. Do you have a screenshot of the offending fence configuration I can try?

Maybe you should take a look at this and this.
Clouds travel east to west.
The Sun rises in the North!Now these points of data make a beautiful line...

Your doing more work than you need to, bro.

False. Those tweets are just playing on the fact that the coordinates are reversed.
