I enjoy betterlight more than this, I get sufficient FPS a it is. It's still too bad people have to choose between a faster game or a better looking game.
When I want to delete that folder or want to add the two datas, my PC always says, I can't change it because another programm is using this folder (but nothing else is opend :/)
I have noticed, that if you play on Short or Tiny fog, it does nothing. but on Medium to Far its boosted my FPS by 5.
And I play on a netbook with 2gb ram.
Before the biomes, I couldn't play it, cause it would take me down to 1-3fps. Now I can play on 6-10fps on Medium.
I always, when I start up MC set the affinity to only one cpu. It helps.

Check task manager and see if javaw is running, if it is then close it in task manager. For some strange reason every now and again, javaw continues to run after I close a program that is running on java (like minecraft, or one of the editors etc).
Minecraft has crashed!

Uh... yeah...
That's what appears when I try this. There's no META-INF in my minecraft.jar :[
Besides, while I like having my blocks more detailed (I'm using AaGeOn's BumpMaft), I think it's kind of annoying if every game has oh-so-great graphics.
Yep, that's exactly why I've gone back to my 13" black and white TV with the rabbit ears, because it's so annoying when every TV show has a widescreen HD picture and surround sound... :wink.gif:
OT - Love the mod, it has made playing totally enjoyable on my laptop; now if it would work with just BL I could use it on my desktop :biggrin.gif:

This is just me, but I always keep a Meta-INF folder with only the manifest file in it in my minecraft.jar. I've found that like half the time the manifest is deleted, mods or no I get black screen. So's I just keep it, that's what I saw recommended on some of my earlier modding attempts.

He meant he prefers games with unique style. I too am annoyed when games all look the same.
On to your HDTV assertion, I know at least four households who had an objectively better picture with a B+W TV than before the switch to over-the-air HD. Meaning they had any picture or sound at all. One of these was in a large metropolitan area, one in the suburbs and two in fringe areas. All of them have ATCS (HD) receivers. Their problems are with the digital modulation and its susceptibility to interference.
As for picture quality when the signal can actually be decoded, I personally can not stand the blockiness, color banding, interlacing and juddering of digital systems. The horrible interlacing and juddering is generally a fault of the encoders and decoders, but I can't understand why it's so prevalent. Add to this mix issues with aspect ratios (due to human stupidity) and you end up with a squished image surrounded by huge black borders on ALL sides about half the size of your screen and looks like a flickering, rainbow mosaic of blurry tiles. You do see these problems; you just don't know what you're looking at. It's like in movies where they use crappy CGI physics -- you feel something is amiss, but can't quite make the connection.
My point with all this nonsense is that you are categorically wrong and nobody likes you. :tongue.gif: Just kidding, but be a little more accepting of other peoples' opinions. Not everyone shares your situation and preferences.
Back to the topic, how does this not help SMP? I would assume both single and multiplayer shared rendering code. Or at least design principles. Could this then be adapted to improve performance with SMP?
Oh, and for people who have insane amounts of RAM (and stable systems), you could theoretically speed up chunk I/O without modding by placing your world directory on a ramdisk. I wouldn't recommend it, though; the McRegion patch works brilliantly and you don't have to worry about losing all your work due to a system hiccup. Ugh, why did I format my server's RAID0 array as JFS? WHY?!
Yes.
Now i have to choose: +10FPS or +10 Graphics.

Thanks so much, that low fps was costing me some battles.

World's End? Ultra FPS on a laptop? Or complete 1 FPS slaughter?

But when I try to start Minecraft, it won't stop loading. I gave up after half an hour.
Any idea what could be wrong?
