So I recently rediscovered one of my favorite 1.7.10 era mods, MCMP-101 by Tsuteto. The mod itself was only ever available through his Github (GitHub - Tsuteto/MCMP1-MC1.7.10: MCMP-1, Minecraft Portable Music Player) and the now dead forum.minecraftuser.jp, an early Japanese fan forum. It was a cassette player mod that was simple, elegant, and (best of all) allowed for players to add midi files that the mod would be able to load onto cassettes.
Here's a review that DanTDM did way back in the day:
Now what would be ideal is if someone would be willing to port this up to 1.16, Fabric would be even better but I have no clue what all is involved in that.
I think I’ll be able to port it to Forge 1.16.5, as I am currently only familiar with Forge modding, not fabric. I’ll let you know when I do it. Are you insistent on it being on fabric, or will forge work for you? I might port it to fabric eventually if I decide to learn Fabric modding.
