Me and my friends are big fans of iceboat racing, but our biggest annoyance is that it's really hard to overtake someone because if you collide you are the one to get pushed back.
My mod request is simple, I just want boats' collision with each other to be disabled.

Actually you can set this up in vanilla pretty easily using commands.
Heres the commands:
1st - /team add noCLLSN
2nd - /team modify noCLLSN collisionRule never
3rd - /team join noCLLSN @e[type=cow]
4th - /summon minecraft:cow ~ ~1 ~ {Team:"noCLLSN"}
