I need a mod (or method) to edit the loot for the bonus chest.
I've tried to edit the spawn_bonus_chest.json within 1.15.2.jar but that didn't work.
The chest still had random trash loot.
Here is what i miss on each start:
Catography-table
Compass
Empty Map
4x Paper (to increase the map)
I don't like to dig down for redstone or dive for shipwrecks in the early game. I want to explore from the start. Creative mode isn't an option for me, same goes for minimap mods. The requested mod (or method) should not require to type an ingame command.
It needs to be short. Toggle the Bonus-chest option on, generate the world and done.
For the customization some sort of script would be enough.
Altough an explanation on how to make the loot random or not would be nice to have too.

My projects:
-are abandoned for now. I might pick 'em up in the future.
For now i'm working on a private modpack that suit's my own playstyle.
I am gonna stay in modded 1.12.2 untill my potato dies. No mercy! :Q
This sounds like a pretty cool idea! I will start working on this.
I am thinking that you would add loot to the chest by adding it into a config file for the mod (which I am not sure on the name yet). So, it would be a json file in which you add entries, and then specify the likelihood of that item generating.
"within the 1.15.2 jar"? You mean you directly edited the jar itself? That's not how you edit resources (including loot tables), not since they added data packs anyway, and otherwise the launcher will detect that you tampered with the jar and download a clean copy unless you make a custom version, which includes making a copy of the version you want to mod, renaming the folder and the jar and json files, and editing the json itself to delete the download URL from the jar and change the version ID to match the new name (see this example for 1.12.2, but the same applies to all versions; you delete everything shown except for the last line, which is the name of the version). Either way, anything that can be changed with resource/data packs should be using them, not actually modifying the game.
If you need help on making a data pack the Wiki has a tutorial, as well as how a loot table is made (you can start by extracting one from the jar and editing it, or just put the one you changed in a data pack):
https://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Tutorials/Installing_a_data_pack (it sounds like you need to generate the world first but chests don't actually generate their loot until opened for the first time so you can create the world, then install the pack before opening the chest, though I can see this being a bit cumbersome compared to a mod that directly replaced the default loot table)

I apriciate your response. I've researched the gamepedia sections when i began with my very own texture pack.
wich work's fine. It was realy helpful.
A loot table can not be added like a texture pack as you mentioned. (becouse it's a datapack)
I could add it into a minecraft world folder but that is not a fast solution. Imagine you had to do that for each Minecraft Hardcore World.
That's not faster than switching between crative and survival mode. Wich once enabled, gives you the possibility to cheat again.
And yeah i failed on modding my version. I reached the point where i had to edit the 1.15.2.json and i gave up. That's such a wall of code.
Bye the way, is there a place where i can just download a cleaned up 1.15.2.json? When i understand you right i just had to manage that last part.

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
That sounds awesome! I can hardly wait to see it.
