Mafia villager mod idea is inspired in old mods like "Psychedelicraft" and new like "Casinocraft".
If you have less than 16 years old or you're a father, you should not be here.
This mod is intended to add near-realistic "mafia themed" content to the game, for veteran bored players, with a parodic intention. Basically a kind of "cubic GTA" but more elegant and minecraftish, with some decoration and style based in "classical mafia movies and culture".
It would add corrupted villagers careers, alcohol and farmable drugs (with shaders, like psychedelicraft), gambling and others things.
If this mod was created and had a label, this mod would be "ESRB Teen" or "PEGI 16".
I'm gonna make him an offer he can't refuse
- The Godfather.
Mafia villager is intended to be a mod that adds near-realistic "mafia themed" content to the game, for veteran and bored players, with a parodic intention.
New villager careers would be added. The mafia boss, generic "mafia subcareers" (emerald lenders, weapon sellers, etc), "gamblers", "farmers", etc.
Also new structures: taverns, casinos, mansions, "crops", etc. And new items and blocks related with these casinos and "crops".
The main idea of this mod is to add versions of corrupted and harmful villager professions, many of which are capable of defending themselves in case of being attacked.
Also this mod should have an immersive system so that the player can join a villager mafia and ascend inside the "family hierarchy" through jobs and missions.
In short, this mod would add corrupt and criminal villagers.
Then you can fight them (but they will try to defend themselves), you can trade with them, or you can join them and try to become a mafia boss.
Mafia villagers basic careers (basic concept):
Mainly there would be two professions of villagers related to the mafia:
Boss (aesthetically distinguishable, and with an advanced AI and special GUI) and "mafia" (with different careers and functions).
- Mafia boss or Godfather:
Gallant, elegant, dressed and old. Boss is a very special type of villager, and usually there is only one per village.
Each mafia boss manages the rest of the mafia villagers that exist nearby.
Having several mafia bosses surrounded by mafia villagers is dangerous, both would form sides that will fight until only one side remains, or they will move away and away from each other.
Boss would have an special AI and GUI. This villager type will give the option to join the mafia to the player, and then give missions (business, elimination of specific villagers looking like an accident, obtaining items, etc) that the player can do to move up in the "family hierarchy" and gain more confidence from the boss.
If the player attacks or kills a mafia boss, all the related mafia villagers will persecute and attack to this player.
After join to the mafia, an achieve will be activated "Hard times" and will sound the godfather theme during several seconds, or at least a similar sound, for avoid copyright problems.
Generic "mafia" careers:
Mafia villagers are similar to mafia boss or godfather, but less styled and old, easy to distinguish.
- Emerald lenders:
They give you an "x" amount of emeralds that you must return with interest before "x" time passes.
The amount of emeralds to request can be chosen by the player.
After "x" time, some mafia villagers on the side of said lender (excepting such lender) will attack you until you return that amount of emeralds.
- Weapon sellers:
They sell you poweful enchanted weapons and armour, and even potions, with a good price. Generally, slightly cheaper than weapons sold by honest blacksmiths. Trade with weapon sellers villagers improves your "mafia reputation" in the case of being inside a mafia, but gets worse "villager popularity" (from vanilla village mechanics).
- Hitmans:
Special villagers with big strenght, life and protection, similar to a golem or a miniboss. They will attack you temporary if you attacks a mafia villager, and they will attack you forever (or until you eliminate them) if you kills their boss.
- Drug dealers:
Special villagers that sell you crafted drug items ready for consumption, with a big emerald price.
Coffee, alcohol, toobaco and bad things:
"Mafia Villagers" would also add new villager professions related to beers and... drugs.
At least it would require the addition of three new professions with different textures:
- Barman:
Each bartender inhabits a tavern of the village.
They can sell to the player different cheap harmless drinks like tea and coffee... more harmful drinks like beers, wines, vodka... and can sell up cigarettes and cigars. They also will sell some basic food.
At least it's a legal business, I guess.
- Seedsman:
Seedsman sell seeds of different specific plants to the player. Wheat, tea, coffee, tobaco, marijuana, etc. Seeds are very expensive.
- Addicts:
Villagers similars to "niwit villagers", but with a more poor appearance.
They will buy several "specific" products to the player. Tobaco, alcoholic drinks... also joints and pills.
Different "subtances" and "plants":
Mafia Villager mod should add new plants and "substances" related with this world.
New plants of multiple blocks tall (maximal size) like tea, grapes, tobaco, marijuana, coca, opium, peyote and ayahuasca.
Grapes only can grow in special fences added by this mod.
These plants, of very slow growth, will drop leaves, buds and seeds, when mature and broken.
However these drops can't be directly used, they must be processed for be consumable.
Drying tables, fermentation barrels and destillators must be used for extract and make different consumable products.
Drying tables must be used for dry leaves and buds of tea, tobaco, peyote, coca, marijuana and ayahuasca plants, as well as for dry mushrooms (vanilla mushrooms can be dried into magic mushrooms).
Fermentation barrels must be used for make beer, wine, peyote tea, ayahuasca tea, red tea and black tea.
Destillators must be used for make high alcohol grade drinks like vodka.
Some of these process will give final products like dried peyote, magic mushrooms, alcoholic drinks and teas that can be directly consumed and can be sold.
Others products will need more crafting, for example cigarretes, cigars, joints (of marijuana, ayahuasca and peyote), etc; or will need an special object (pipes and hookahs) for be consumed.
All these consumable products should give realistic visual effects using shaders, similarly to the discontinued Psychedelicraft mod.
Cards, dices and casino royale:
Finally the gambling theme, sometimes related also with mafia.
This mod should add one villager proffesion more:
- Gamblers:
Smart and dressed villagers who will play against you in casinos, betting emeralds. They wouldn't have a properly said GUI, but instead an advanced AI.
When a player opens the GUI of a "casino game block" (for example a poker table, read more down), near gambler villagers will come near and join to the game, and play with more or less realistical difficulty, as if they were real players, betting emeralds.
Games:
Inside casinos, new big structures generated at villages, there would be lots of special machines.
Additions similar to those of the Casinocraft mod:
From slot machines, arcade, poker and blackjack tables, roulettes and betting areas, and tables for dice games.
All these machines (with the exception of arcade, if they are added) are made so that the player loses emeralds in the hands of gambling villagers, so it is not a good idea to play that unless you really know what you are doing.
These machines can be stolen or crafted by the player, something especially useful in multiplayer servers, as it will allow several players to play poker betting gold, bricks and diamonds.
In general, coding these special blocks and their GUI would be a very difficult task, recommended for expert modders.
Thanks for read.
Current status of this mod: concept, basic idea. Recruiting a team of modders (searching some interested modders).
