Hi, I don't usually do the whole forum thing or the modding thing for that matter. (I know this is a huge project but it could be made and updated in small increments, I do however believe it should be one mod that requires regular updates rather than multiple mods.)
(Similarly, anything added by the mod that subsequently becomes Vanilla should promptly be removed to prevent redundancy and compatibility issues, and should be compatable with the newest release as soon as possible)
But I would love a mod that includes forgotten/inaccessible/removed/version exclusive features into Java Edition.
(And I'm sure a lot of other people would too.)
I'll give some examples;
Removed:
-Crying Obsidian, Crafted with Obsidian and Lapis Lazuli, Original function obsolete. Proposed new function, Place 9 on the ground 3x3 to change the default server spawn in Survival, meaning newcomers and players with missing or obstructed beds will spawn there.
-Ruby. Same spawn rate as Emerald but perhaps in a Netherrack looking block similar to Quarts. Used by Pigmen for trading.
Forgotten:
-Pigmen. Living Pigmen. They could have rare villages in the Nether, identical to Testificate villages in construction but with materials found in the Nether or made from things available in the Nether. Gravel paths with guaranteed Netherrack underneath to prevent collapses, Nether Brick Fence where glass would be, and the rest Nether Brick variants and Quarts variants. Gold nuggets, Ingots, Carrots, tools and armour appear in trades and blacksmith structure,
The Pigmen could trade in *Ruby's and run from Zombie Pigmen despite the fact they don't attack or chase them (like creepers and cats).
Could spawn with gold armour, the emphasis on gold is because of the Zombie Pigmen dropping nuggets.
Farms should have Netherwart.
-Panda. Pandas.
-Red Dragon. Half the health of the ender dragon, Spawns on Mushroom Island and is neutral (asleep) until provoked (woken).
Drops Red Mushrooms, 1 Mooshroom spawn egg, 1/3 the XP the Ender Dragon does and a chance to drop a red variant of the dragon head.
Version Exclusives:
-NPC. Could rarely be found out in the world "adventuring" with a Pig/Mule/Donkey/Horse/Llama/Dog on a lead and alone in a boat out at sea.
Perhaps a higher chance of spawning near those otherwise useless Desert water wells.
-The Agent. The new CODE mob. I love Autonauts ( https://denki.itch.io/autonauts ) and as soon as I saw it I wanted something similar in Minecraft.
Make them closer to endgame, and relatively difficult to build.
-Zombie Village. "Zombie village buildings consist of moss stone and cobwebs."
-Baby Zombie & Baby Husk Jockeys. Behave as they do in Bedrock edition.
-Bedrock Edition Behaviours. Redstone toggles armour stand pose. Blazes glow in the dark. Boats emit smoke when destroyed. Chance of Cave spider jockey Skeleton/WitherSkeleton/Stray. Baby chickens spawn naturally. Creeper has smaller explosion area, but the damage is the same. Elder Guardians are bosses. Endermites attack Endermen unprovoked. Ghasts have glowing eyes. Magma Cube cores glow in the dark. Piglets spawn naturally. Sheep face colour matches coat colour and babies can spawn naturally. Shulkers can be dyed like sheep. Wither Boss health is double. Puppies can spawn naturally.
Removed:
-Cyan Flower.
-Rose Flower. Bring back singular Roses and leave Rose bushes untouched.
Inaccesable:
Armour Stand with arms. (Survival Mode) Craft by putting an armour-stand in a crafting table with a stick either side.
Zombie Horses. Could spawn at Zombie villages, with Zombie siege's and/or when an ordinary unarmoured horse is struck by lightning.
AND MOST IMPORTANTLY;
Canned For No Good Reason: Mob A. Mob C. Mob D. All with the behaviours mentioned during Minecon earth and other Mojang sources.
(the vote should have been for the order they work on them and add them, not to can three ideas they have already spent time on.)
If anyone with the knowhow chooses to take on this massive endeavour, I would be happy to help any way I can.
This is the sort of thing I would support on Patreon although I'm not sure of the legalities of that. But streaming the creation process on Twitch would provide a legal place for people to donate while also educating them on how such a thing is done, archiving the streams on Youtube would create a (very) small amount of Ad revenue and serve as a tool for aspiring mod creators.
Huge overhaul mods aren't uncommon these days Fallout 4 and Skyrim have plenty in the works (Lore-friendly or otherwise), sure there are things like the Aether but this mod would comply entirely to the intended feel of Minecraft while adding some much-needed variety and features that frankly shoud be vanilla.
