Rise and Eat: Rises from ground and eats player (not instant kill).

Sink Hole: Creates a circle from underground below the player atleast 15 block radius, then the block drop causing a sink hole like effect atleast 15 blocks down (not instant kill).
Jump and Swallow: Jumps from under the ground forming its body into a arc then going back under ground swallow the player from above (instant kill).
Special Abilities: The sand worm will be able to make tunnels that the player can follow through. The tunnels will be made out of a special sand called wet sand. But the player must be cautious as they encounter sand worm nest and baby sand worms that travel through the tunnel.
I have also done models for cultist and cultist leader.
I think this is one of THE most requested non-Pigman-related mobs ever, and I think the prelim work you've done on this is very encouraging- I've got a few mob ideas I'd like to add but I'm not quite brave enough to share the conceptual work I've done on them yet (and I can't say I've made any custom character models yet, big plus in your direction). That said, I've got a few ideas on how a sandworm could work in Minecraft, though I wouldn't be offended if you already had ideas of your own you'd rather pursue
It seems to me a sandworm should be able to move through sand without effort, basically "no clipping" it's way through as if it were swimming in water (which you've established already harms it, if not outright kills it). Stone/etc. would stop it... now if you wanted to follow a "Dune" model you could have it being able to no-clip through dirt/grass/mycellium/etc. too, and in doing so it could convert those blocks into sand.... or not, if you didn't want them to be quite THAT much of a menace to servers etc. Maybe it could be limited to certain biomes?
In any case I wish you luck on this mod, you've put more work into it than most, and I think you could pull it off assuming you can code in Java
Thank you for the support you ideas are good i was thinking about ristricting the sandworms to the desert biome. Of course in the future there will be more sand worms even the dune worm is something i have considered. Right now the model needs a little fixing then i will be heading to animating and coding. Also I didn't want a small block moving through the sand like most mods. I really feel like sand worms don't get enough credit and games and I plan on having worms that are incredibly huge. The Sand Worms joints are almost fixed the teeth took about an hour and a half to fix the joints the rest will be easy. I forgot about the audio part, when the sand worm is ready for programming it will use a sound that is all ready in the game later on this might be changed. Right now I am trying to getting the cultist and sand worm in, after that I might add more. I have experience with modding but I'm only 16 and I'm basicly a one man army one this one. So I will try to get friends together and hopefully we can pull this thing off.
I like both with and without horns... maybe you could do a variation, like the horned one could have higher health/maybe be larger? If I had to pick I'd keep the horns though

Thank you, my experience with Java is little. But I have made mods for other games and I do know 5 different coding languages. Just because I don't know Java that well does not mean this mod won't happen. I will be watching tutorials and doing online research on how to code in Java specifically for minecraft.
Hey I just wanted to let everyone know that this mod has NOT been abandoned. School got in the way of things and now that summer is here I can work on it some more. I have started animations for the cultist and hopefully they will be done later this week!

This mod can have lots of potential,and i think i have some ideias.First of all,what about adding a little ''Biology'' To sandworms?Maybe a book about them or something'.Here's my ideia on that:
Sandworms are large anelids,native to the underground deserts that feed on other animals,they hunt by staying underground,and small filaments on their large tusk detects prey from above,jumping to eat them.Sandworms are rare creatures,thus,they do not interfere too much on reducing animal populations.They posses differnet subspecies,and can go from mere 1 meter common species that aren't hostile and feed on small animals to massive behemoths that are extremely rare and are worshiped as gods by a group of cultists.
So,yeah,that's it.
For the sandworm subspecies and such,i've tought of these right here:
Sand Worm
Sand Wyrm
Coral Worm
Colossal Sandworm
Cave Worm
Sand Wyrm:Native to deserts,these are small and neutral,they do not have nay usefull drops and have 300 HP.They can be tamed and used as small and efficient diggers.Spawn commonly on the desert,they go to the surface at night,and at day,stay underground.
Sand Worm:The regular sandworm,Posseses the features of the sandworm you mentioned.Rare spawns.
Coral Worm:A very peculiar Sandworm,this worm adapted to live on a bizarre place,the ocean.The only kind of sandworm that does not live on terrestiral regions,the coral worm is a neutral mob,unlike other worms,it is not a predator,and feeds in a way similar to a whale.It's a large species,being larger than the regular SandWorm but Smaller than the Colossal.1300 HP.Killing awards with Raw Fish in large amounts and it can be tamed and used as a aquatic mount.For appearance,a large sandworm with a deep blue body,no ''Tusks'' like the regular sandworm,a large fin on the back and maybe some flippers.
Cave Worm:200 HP,Worms that lack the ability to dig and instead live on the caverns.They eat anything they see,thus making them hostile,due to the lack of food on caverns.Uncommon,they can drop Cave scales on death,that can be used to craft the Cave Armor set,that not only has a defense over iron and under diamond but can also give you a small night vision while on caves.The cave scale can also be used to craft a worm saddle,used to ride SandWyrms and CoralWorms
Colossal Sandworm:Native to deserts,this massive beast is extremely hostile and seemed to have developed some sort of intelligence,and attacks and kills for pleasure.This massive beasts are extremely rare and tought to be some sort of mutation,and are culted as gods by cultists.3000 Health,they have various attacks.They can throw sand at you,dig and eat like regular worms,create a whrilpool like regular worms,summon cultists to aid them and when under 1000 HP,They can start summoning wORM EGGS,that hatch onto worm larvas,that posses 20 hp and will aid it on the fight by spitting at you.When killed,the colossal sandworm can drop the Colossal Trophy,that's it's head on a trophyboard,And colossal worm scales,that can be crafted with diamonds to get the Sand King armo,reasily the best armor ingame.It can also drop the Worm fangs,that can be used to craft the following itens:
Worm staff:Summons baby worms to aid you.Max 2 worms,it dosen't have durability but costs up a ''Mana'' bar that's only triggered while using this or other ''Magic'' Weapons.
Desert Scourge:A powerfull sword that does a great damage.
In order to summon it,needs to use the colossal bait found on the cultist fortress.
So,yeah,that's it for the worms.There's also some ideias for some ''Extar mobs''.Such as the cultists.Nothing much honestly.
Cultists:Spawns at the cultist fortess and deser temple,posses 20 HP and attack by using small magic bolts.Has 10 per cent of chance of dropping cultist robe on death aswell as the cultist mask.Wearing both decreases the damage worms do to you by 10 per cent.Maybe there could be a ''Vanity'' Set so that players who like this or others armor wear this while they still use their current armor,i don't know.
Scorpion:5 hp,small passive mob that spawns on desert,no use besides that you can capture them with a bottle and them trow them back to whenever you want.
Fish:Just so that the CoralWorm Ins't alone on the ocean,spawn on normal,clownfish,parrotfish and angelfish variety.
Cultist Golem:200 HP,Only spawns at the cultist fortress.
Cultist leader:1200 HP,a miniboss that lurks within the end of the cultist fortress.He attacks by summoning cultists,teletransporting and shooting magic bolts at you.Killing him will award you with the cultist staff,that can shoot the same magic bolts the cultist does and do decent,but not extremely high damage.Maybe the same as a diamond sword,i don't know,and the colossal bait,that can be used at the desert to summon the Colossal Sandworm Boss.
I have done work on a sand worm model which hopefully ill be able to turn into a mod. Here are my ideas for a well put sand worm mod.

Which do you people prefer outward teeth or inward teeth.
Hard to tell without textures etc., but my vote is inward (the second option) as is

Horns or no horns?
Sand Worm has been fixed all the joints are ready. Next is texturing.

The Cultist is completely textured now. Took me about 2 hours so the worm will probably take me like 5 hours. Next up is the Cultist Leader.
Rapid progress on this so far... digging the cultist, I could see someone like him building the vanilla desert temples.
I should shoot for that sort of time commitment too, you're really inspiring me to develop a few ideas of my own

Are you still working on this mod or have you forgot about it? I'd love to be able to play this mod, it sounds amazing!
