Hello! I am looking for a mod that adds spare blocks for players to change their textures via an RP, If you ever heard of Xtra blocks mod, that mod is a perfect example of what I'm looking for, but sadly their owners stopped updating beyond 1.7.10.
Here's a link to the thread: www.minecraftforum.net/forums/mapping-and-modding/minecraft-mods/1284319
What I want is something similar, ofcourse that will be too much work if tons of blocks were added, instead, add one block with durability (if possible to make it work with 1.9's durability changable texture), and one glass block durability (transparent block) The blocks should not be craftable, nor spawn with the world, creative side only![/p]
[p]Now that's a vague description of it, if you want to make it or at least interested in it, here's a full description:[/p]
The mod will add many blocks and items to minecraft for players to change the texture of it via a resourcepack, here's a list of what to add:
-Blocks with durability:
now if this is possible, and made it to work with 1.9's new feature (different textures assigned for each durability), there will be no need to add any furthur blocks, make 1 block, with a configurable amount of durability, for example, 1000 durability, meaning 1000 new blocks, Sweet!.
-Items with durability:
Now this is possible, just add one item with a configurable amount of durability.
-a Sword, Pickaxe, Axe, Shovel and a Hoe:
Again, these are non craftable, and creative side only! And again, configurable amount of durability, Like that, I can add as many weapons I like without affecting the original ones!
[p]And basically just that, Honestly, just a block with configurable durability is fine! [/p]
[p]Please note again that These blocks/items are non craftable, and can be broken with a stone pickaxe. The mod should be in 1.10.2[/p]
[p]And basically that's it, I am willing to pay for this as I'm in need for it, If you're interested, please PM here (or on skype AidenR0CJ) so we can discuss it and the price![/p]
[p]Thanks for reading,
- Aiden[/p]
Yes, that is what I meant, have a block for each group of 16 textures. If you reduced the number of textures per block you could also have blocks with an orientation (like dispensers, droppers and pistons).
That would limit you to 2 directional blocks per in-game block.
But you could write a custom is in format that specifies how many directions it could face, the hardness and explosion resistance and what type of tool to use to break it.
Or, for a mod such as this, where all you want is simple blocks, MCreator is fine, just don't expect to be able to make really complex blocks.

I actually was going to use Mcreator because it's rather a very simple mod (only 1 item and several blocks) but I never really had luck making it work, and the community is unresponsive so, there was nothing else I could do except requesting forge modders on MCF.
I actually asked 2 people but they're not free or available. and I wouldn't bother really if I didn't need it so much, hence why I said I'm willing to pay.
I'll keep trying with my luck though, thank you for responding
Yes, learning java is much better, you gain a skill that could be useful in later life, and you have (almost) complete control over all aspects of your mod.
But for those people who just want to add decoration to their own world, MCreator is fine.

It's what I'll probably do, due to the fact no one stepped up and helped hehe, well, thanks anyway!

I'm just a very boring person.
Block durability is called metadata, and can only go up to 15 (hence 16 colours of wool and clay, 16 strengths of redstone (including off) etc.)
You could have it count the number of texture files in a folder and create that many blocks, but that would only work on single player.
If I helped you, please click the green up arrow.
16 textures per block seems well, we can add a couple more blocks for this, and I need it for single player, So it won't be a problem.

MCreator gives sketchy code. Sure, it might be okay for the limited amount of stuff you're doing, but that doesn't make it not sketchy.
That's another reason why I'm asking from the amazing community of forge!
I'm just a very boring person.
MCreator has only one use where I would deem it acceptable, and this is it, simple, basic items and blocks for decoration only.
But yes, don't even think of releasing it as a mod, because it is sketchy code, that is written for a specific user.
If I helped you, please click the green up arrow.
It's what I thought, but I'd rather learn Java on using Mcreator, 2 reasons, sketchy code and because Mcreator doesn't even work on my laptop.
