Hello, I have decided to begin my own Bakugan Mod! I'm looking for people to assist me with it, such as coders, people to design the bakugan forms, etc. Post here if interested in helping! *To be a coder, you must demonstrate at least some knowledge of coding mods.
I've already got an idea of how it could work. When you begin, you will be asked to choose a guardian bakugan, which you can choose from a selection of 6 bakugan: Pyrus Dragonoid, Aquos Preyas, Haos Tigrerra, Subterra Gorem, Darkus Hydranoid, or Ventus Skyress. You will then enter the world, with your Bakugan in ball form, and your bakugan on hand will be in a panel on the right of your screen. Any others would be put in a special Bakugan Interspace Computer. To use a bakugan, use the arrow keys to switch between them, and throw a gate card, then throw the bakugan onto the gate card. You can have up to three with you at a time, and new bakugan can be captured by being defeated in battle if you are at least 500 G's above them. In New Vestroia, Bakugan will be in their full form, unless you use an item called a Form Reverter, which will put your bakugan into ball form in New Vestroia. That's all I have for now, feel free to contribute thoughts and ideas.

I have planned out a good portion of how I intend for the mod to work. When digging or mining, you will occasionally come across a new item called a sealed ability card. When you right click the card, it will become a regular ability card, with the name and effect on it. occasionally, the ability card will be a specific Bakugan's card, such as Pyrus Dragonoid's "Boosted Dragon" Ability Card. These cards will spawn their specific Bakugan, along with any other abilities unique to that bakugan. All ability cards will be attribute-specific, only being able to be used on that specific attribute. In addition, bakugan-specific cards will only be usable on that bakugan. Cards and Bakugan will be kept in your chests, hotbar, or inventory. In a battle, you may use up to 3 bakugan, 3 ability cards (and 1 fusion ability), and 3 gate cards. bakugan and gate cards will of course be thrown, and ability cards will simply be right clicked to activate. If you defeat your opponent's bakugan by at least 500 G's, you will capture that bakugan (if you run out of bakugan completely, you can always mine another), unless you play the doom card, which will send your opponent's bakugan to the doom dimension. I don't have a clear picture of how to incorporate evolution yet, however. Most likely, it won't be added until after the mod's release. I was thinking perhaps at least one way for Bakugan to evolve would be for it to accumulate a massive amount of G-power, around 2000 G's or something, in battle.
Still looking for some people to assist me; the sooner the better! I hope to release some of the first screenshots from testing the mod in June!

I could help! I am not so experienced with making mods, but I know a lot about Bakugan! Also, I was considering a different name for this, maybe something like Blokugan? By the way, your idea of choosing one Bakugan, then capturing more sounds a lot like Pokémon.

And how would you expect it to work? you cannot just magically acquire more bakugan, or get one to begin with without otherwise battling, which you cannot do without first getting a bakugan. And, in fact, the 500 G's rule applied in the show, so it is canonical. Also, considering the part where Klaus somehow captured Preyas, I was considering adding something like that.

Ok, I will try to do that. Just as an idea, maybe there would be other ways to capture more bakugan, such as Aquos Hex, Haos Vexos etc. which reminds me, how exactly do you plan to implement cards? Are there any plans for jumping bakugan? I have been making some commands for that kind of thing in my creative world. It could be like a testfor that checks for a gate card block directly below the bakugan. Here is what I came up with: /execute @e[type=EntityBakugan,name=Example] ~ ~ ~ testforblock ~ ~-1 ~ minecraft:gatecard 1
If it doesn't work or is too complicated just let me know.

Well, first off, the mod and gameplay will be based mostly off the anime, not the irl game. So most game cards won't be implemented unless they were also in the anime, or have an effect that could in theory work in the anime. I'll give more details soon. Capturing Bakugan, I certainly have some thoughts. Obviously the standard method of being 500 G's above your opponent is definitely something I will implement from the beginning. I've been looking into how Klaus captured and retrieved Aquos Preyas from the Doom Dimension; perhaps we'll do something like that. Also, I do plan to implement Runo's Pure Light ability card, which allows any defeated bakugan in the battle to return to the user's side, regardless of which side the bakugan is on. Jumping Bakugan, I don't know. I don't even intend to add New Vestroia Bakugan until season 1 Bakugan are pretty much fully implemented. Cards, I will announce later on. As for this command you created, here's the thing... I have almost no idea how to implement code. I have something of a limited knowledge of writing code, but I have no idea where I would write this code, where to add it, or how. I also don't know how I'd make the models of the bakugan mobs. This is why I cannot start until I have coders and mob designers assisting me. Anyway, I intend to make an announcement, a sort of press release, if you will, of my plans for this mod soon, So everyone, stay tuned! Also, any and all help is appreciated!

Ok, cool! I just finished watching the entire first season, so I will know a lot more about what this mod is about since you have announced this is based on the anime. I have been working on a video tutorial on how to mod minecraft, and what I have been making is so far, so good. The update sounds great, by the way!
Hydrasaur, I don't have any great skills for coding java, but I really want to be a beta tester for this mod. I hope that you can make this a ssp/smp mod you could get many people to download this mod. Are you going to add in other dimensions like gundalia, and neothia?? or just new vestroia?? I can only supply creative ideas for this mod since that is all I can due. Anything else and I useless. 1.7.10 would be a perfect type of version to start off this mod for a great intro, but if you choose to do 1.8 then I can see trouble a rising for many users since they have mixed feelings about the 1.8 version of forge. I watched Bakugan when I was in High School and enjoyed it I hope that you can make a great mod and can keep it alive.

Honestly, I have no idea what you mean by "SSP" and "SMP". Neathia and Gundalia, I have mixed feelings about. I'll consider adding them, but I'm still mulling it over; they could take up too much data, or other issues may arise. I most certainly will not be adding them in Version 1.0; perhaps 1.2 or 2.0. But 1.0 is a definite no; I'm not even adding any Bakugan after season 1 at that time. As for 1.7.10, I've been hearing that I should make the mod for 1.7.10 for now, so maybe I will. And I'll be more than glad to take any ideas you might have into consideration; but I just want everyone to know that I do still need some coders and people to design items and mobs. Without these people, I cannot add anyone's ideas, or make this mod. As for keeping it alive, I will certainly play my part, but that task also falls on all of you. You must play it, critique it, spread the word, and help make it better. I cannot do it without you guys.

make is both single player and multiplayer type instead of just multiplayer. I will suggest you add Neathia and Gundalia into 1.0 version so players can have a massive selection of Bakugan to choose from. I understand data issues but the greater the options the better it is for the people downloading this mod.

Well, I will not be adding a "massive" amount of bakugan in the first release; I only plan to start with a select few. We cannot start with hundreds of Bakugan. Even Pixelmon takes it slow, and does it mostly by region. I intend to go by season; perhaps when we get to Gundalian invaders we will add Gundalia and Neathia. But I most certainly will not release them with the first release. I understand people want options and versatility with this mod; but as it is we barely have a team right now, and I'm sure we all have lives. We cannot add everything in a massive release; it would take months of programming, coding, testing, and designing. But, worry not, your patience will be rewarded. As I said earlier, perhaps if some of you were willing to learn to code mods and design items and mobs, then we could work faster. As for selection for Beta Testing, we've barely even started the the first release. I will say we have certainly made some progress, but certainly not enough that we will be ready to release any time soon. I've got a time frame of sometime this month or next, depending on progress and how many people pitch in with coding and designing. Anyway, point is, we don't know how we will select Beta Testers, or when. So sit tight, and pitch in if you can. We also need a lot of people to spread the word, and to do publicity for the mod, to get us known.
