Hey, miners! I was watching this incredible movie the other day that had some similariteis with minecraft. Then an idea struck me: A MOD! However, scince I am no modder , the only thing i could do was to post the idea here,

But this is my take on what it would be like
All mobs spawn as a zombie version of it and they dont despawn (only monsters itself is zombie. No creepers)
So a zombie sheep, zombie cow...
You get the idea.
However the mobs cant be farmed, no milk, no eggs no wool.
You can still get feathers, leather and meat though :biggrin.gif:
You need to find a place to live because the world is hardcore, You die once.
Zombie creatures have their AI enhanced to seek protection from daylight at all costs - Limited to breaking blocks.
Wooden doors may be opened/broken down by zombies themselves.
You need to make a labortary to find the cure to cure zombism.
You can make several new items.
Needle : Inject mobs with it, Can be used to inject cures or take blood.
Microscope : Does nothing but required to be nearby to make a cure
Test tube : Mix stuff with it
Mortar and pestle : Crafted clay, baked in furnace and used to pound things. Placing it and right clicking opens a GUI where you can pound stuff into a powder with a number assigned to it.
The powder recipe is saved into a config each time you make a new one. So making the same recipe again will give the same results.
When you use the powder on a test tube with water in it. The test tube makes a potion.
The potion needs to be injected into a mob and over a period of days the mob will either suicide or heal.
The skin of the mob will change accordenly
Each time a different powder is crafted theres a %1 chance its a good cure.
When you find a good cure the mob will heal up and turn back into a normal mob.
If the mob is a zombie.
It turns into a NPC.
The NPC will stand there harmlessly. Till you offer a bed.
The NPC will then sleep for 2 days.
On the 2nd day the NPC will tell you about a "Labortary which is only 10 thousand miles away..."
It is MEANT to be a journey.
You can then travel with the NPC which acts like a dog with right clicking.
NPC needs to eat when you eat and will teleport to you like a dog.
However if the NPC dies you need to find a new one.
If you die you have the world deleted/Mission over
When you get to the labortary you just need to fight your way though the entrance which is overrun by hungry zombies then go into their lab. Once the NPC enters thats it.
They just give you a gun where you can shoot every mob for 0dmg and turn it into a normal mob, over 2 days ofc.
Then you can do whatever with the zombie overrun world and that unlimited curing gun.
You can get moar guns at the lab.
Once cured the mobs dont turn back, All other mobs will hate them though.

And I felt I had to post this.
Having just spent the entire day making a mod that turns 2 iron ingots on top of each other into an iron rod, I think someone with more Java experience needs to do this.
But I do like the idea. It seems of Aether magnitude though, so multiple people working on it would probably be best...

yes great idea but i can make about 1 block that does nothing in an hour how about you ask
the modders that made any good mod you have played ie ather creators, sdk's mods, singleplayer commands,buildcraft, plane mod,you are the crepper,ect ect ect ect ect

nice i can randomly generate and empty box in an Hour
This is a pretty nice idea, kinda feel like it got forgotten (because it kinda did). I would download this mod for sure if it was made. One more suggestion is that every zombie (that's actually a zombie, not a cow-zombie or a dog-zombie) could have some power-up, like Power ll or Speed ll. Well, that would be scary and pretty overpowered. :3
