Each ore you mine have a chance that when broken it spawn a crystaline gollem instead of drops, imbued with the strength of gold, iron, redstone or diamond, even coal...
It could increase its spawning chances the deeper you get.
it would be slow, half our speed but much strong, the pick axe would be the weapon to beat it, not the sword!
It would break blocks to reach you, any blocks, and each block it breaks it heals a bit, if it is a ore block will heal more, the better the ore the more it heals.
And better dont flee because it will track you down from far, one day it gets to you (at most 3 in a background computing)
their attacks has a reach of two blocks in front of it,
one attack per 2s, ralely miss, will hold the attack if you dodge..
hit for 90% health if you are without armor,
you need tactics to beat it, being easier in open areas..
makes rock crunching sounds,
the coal makes your vision blur dark for a few seconds
the diamond makes you vision flash a few seconds
the iron makes you bleed!
and the redstone freezes you for 1s :ohmy.gif:
Only after defeating it you would get the actual ore pieces, a bit more for the trouble.
and a gollem essence to create your own pet gollem (teleports to you if far away)
(it remembers me of the silver-fish btw.. mmm...)
they have a history also, these deep rocks were anciently imbued by the pray of dwarven clerics (a dwarven cleric?! :ohmy.gif:)
and then... (thats all folks :biggrin.gif:)
