F1 is a very nice feature in Minecraft for when you're taking a video or showing someone around. But often I find myself thinking - and hopefully I'm not the only one - that the hotbar, health and crosshair are good to have, but this huge blocky thing taking up much of the lower right corner is annoying! It adds nothing helpful (the hotbar shows all needed info), it just gets in the way of seeing better.
I wish there was a mode (perhaps cycling F1, this would be simplest) that hides my avatar's hand or the block/tool being held, without hiding the game's interface itself.

Seems good, but there's one thing I've been wanting for more RPG Orientated videos. A way to, say, reverse this suggestion and make it so that it hides the HUD Interface, all except for the Health and Armor, without hiding the player's held item. That way it'd seem more serious in terms of Realism in the Roleplaying Videos of Minecraft.
I know this is an old topic but I was wondering if anyone ever worked on this. I would like to keep my GUI and crosshairs but lose the constantly moving hand. I sometimes get a headache after watching it flash across my screen so many times while digging/chopping/etc.

See animated image below to clarify:
That wouldn't do it; I want to work and build normally (while recording or otherwise) but without the big object in the way.
Any update on this ?
I want to press F1 and hide all thing but not player name. How i do it ? or how can i hide my hand ?
For anyone who wants to do the reverse
