I Got A Suggestion. You Could Add A Craftable Printer. The Way The Printer Would Work Is You Would Open Up An InterFace On The Computer. You Could Click A Button That Says Printer. The Printer InterFace Would Say Copy Or Write. When Clicking On Write A Template Would Open Up Showing A Basic Piece of Paper Which You Type Stuff onto. When Your Done Click The Print Button. Exit The Computer Interface.Right Click The Printer. It Can Open Up A Printer Screen With 4 Storage Boxes. The Paper U Printed Will Be In One Of Them. When Right Clicking The Paper It Will Show What You Wrote On It.If You Click Copy On The Printer Interface You Can Select Any Custom Printed Paper And It Will Print A Copy Of It In The Printer. So If You Want To Make A Book With Three Custom Papers You Arrange Them In The Pattern By Which You Want Them.
[] [] []
While = Custom Paper
[] [] []
A Type In Box Will Pop Up Showing What To Name The Book. Now You Have Your Own Custom Book That You Can Read Over And Over Again.you Can Right Click The Book To Read It.Also You Can Make a Copy Of It On Your Printer.
The Printer Could Require Paper To Be Put Into Its Interface. It Could Use 3 Paper Per Custom Book And 1 Paper Per Custom Paper.
OtherWise Than That This Will Be a great Mod When It Comes out
it is a nice idea but much to complicated if you just press right mouse on the priner a screen pops up and just like a furnace but with:
input>output
writing area where you can write something on the paper
cancel button print button
Sounds Much Simpler.
Although I Still Suggest If You Add That In There Should Be a Copy Button
About the whole printer/custom books...
What would you do if you wanted more than 3 pages in a book...
Would you just paste small "packets" together?
Also, how exactly do you bind the pages together? I would assume that you stitch them or have some other method of binding which would require a material other than paper.
There would be two methods of binding, stitching and rings. To stitch you would just use string and to bind using rings you would have to make spiral rings made like so.
[] []
[] = 4
[] []
To separate string from thread you simply craft string.
[] []
[] [] =
[] []
How about:
[] []
=
[] []
to make the paper packet... Note: you cannot use spiral bindings to make a paper packet.
= String
= Custom Paper
= Paper Packet (3 pages)
= Spiral Binding
= Thread
= Enlarged packet (9 pages)
= Huge packet (27 pages)
= Super Book (max of 27 pages)
= Pencil
You would than have to bind the packets together once again. For this you could use a spiral binding or stitches. You can keep enlarging the size of the book by adding more and larger packets. To finish off a book you need to use spiral bindings. You cannot add more pages after you use a spiral binding.
To enlarge a book that does not have spiral bindings on yet you would just use the recipe to make a packet but with your current packets.
For example:
[] []
=
[] []
[] []
=
[] []
or:
[] []
=
[] []
You could either make packets or books. The only purpose for making books are for aesthetic purposes. (They look nicer)
If you don't use a printer to write on these you need a pencil. (duh)
[] []
[] [] = 2
[] []
Each pencil would have a durability like any other tool, to use it you just hold the book/packet and right click, (to open the book/packet gui) on the bottom right of the gui there would be a button labeled "Write"
Each pencil can write 1000 words before dying. (backspacing doesn't reduce the amount that the pencil has written.)
to make these things you first need the sebatronic remidian crystal.
first, smelt redstone into a redstone crystal.
then put four of those around a diamond to make a crystal clump.
one more furnace makes a remidian crystal! > is remidian crystal
the laser generator:
[]
[]
energy source:
casing:
[] []
[] []
[]
trigger:
[]
[] [] []
this all makes the laser. it is powered by power (duh!)
the laser can 1 hit any block under iron strength, and can cause 7 hearts damage.
hoe this helps.
This needs to be more developed more please.

Got some ideas if the laser idea were to go ahead:
Lasers can be used to turn things on/off remotely.
Batteries can be used for "Laser Ammo" when you fire the laser, it slightly drains the battery.
Sets mobs on fire remotely.
Working on some reskins for the bow and arrow, just to see if the laser will look OK. should it be like a laser pen or a laser gun? (I'm currently assuming gun because of the trigger element).
The laser idea would be quite finicky to make, either as an entity (like a shot arrow, only a continual stream) or as a block (which could expand like reeds, only horizontal and much faster. Lasers could also be useful for traps (if they were deadly), but anyways, I'm not too concerned about the complexity of the project, only the amount of block IDs being used up.
|Block ID isn't important right now. We can worry that later. But I do like your idea, Prowne.

Nice work, I'm awaiting the creation of this. I'll try to contribute ideas if I can.
I feel this goes with the computer theme.
PORTAL 2 SPOILER ALERT
Perhaps a sprinkler system to keep your crops well watered?
It would spread water in a radius that would fill small holes and water tilled dirt blocks. It would also fertilize the tilled blocks and make crops grow faster than they do when their just watered. You would need some basic parts and a hose to connect to a water pool.
You would craft a hose like this:
[] [] [] = 4
You could place hoses like wires and they could go up to 15 blocks. At the end you would need a suction piece to pull water in.
You would place the pump adjacent to water and a hose. It would suck the water into the hose. Now, for the sprinkler...
[] []
=
You would just place the sprinkler and connect up a hose, a pump, and a wire. You would be able to change the distance that it spread water by right clicking it. If a block gets too much water it becomes "flooded" and crops can no longer be grown on it.
This would most likely also have to be powered. (At both ends, the pump and the sprinkler)
Consider this my application.
As long as I'm here would someone mind making this mod for me, I've had it up in then Idea/Request topic for a while...
Actually two things. Block Dispenser Smelting Table
Nice. Alcat, can you work on this?

either gunpowder, flint, or a new mineral called graphite!
and to solve that plastic issue:
you get plastic by finding pools of oil underground. this can make a little plastic OR
use your new bucket of oil to smelt some coal into oil. only burning oil works.
then smelt some oil into liquid plastic.
put that liquid plastic in the crafting table to harden it.

Sticks and stones may break your bones but a diamond sword cuts your head off!
Thanks for incorporating some of my ideas, I realized that the whole sprinkler thing wasn't computery but I did feel like it was a needed machine. I'll continue to come up with ideas.
I would like to propose a very interesting idea called "Liquid Energy"
As the name suggests it allows you to turn power into a liquid eliminating some of the confusing water. First you would have to craft the Energy to Liquid Converter or ELC.
= Advanced Circuit
= Water Bucket
= Basic Chip
= ELC
= Redstone Dust
= LEC
= Energy Producer
= Cable
= Energy User
Perhaps:
[] []
=
[] []
You would than just place the ELC next to a device that generates power. It would spew out a greenish liquid (looking a lot like acid) out the other end. This end would be facing the player when he places the ELC. Liquid energy would travel up to 30 blocks gradually thinning. You would also have to craft the LEC (Liquid to Engery Converter) which would be made like so:
[] []
=
[] []
Put this at the end of the channel you have dug for your liquid energy and it will suck it up and turn it into the corresponding amount of electricity. The power comes out the side that faces you when you place it.
Example:
[] [] [] [] [] [] []
I'm not really sure what this could be used for but its an idea!
hi, i was wondering if my name could have a better block beside it. i find blue or purple (im colourblind) quite lame.
maybe , , or . thnkz!

Just updated everything. I actually update on a frequent basis, just that you should scroll down sometimes. No offense.
Can somebody ecture me on the whole printer thingy again, I need a good understanding of it before I put it in the thread.
