i have no background in java, so i don't even know if either of these ideas are possible. but i was thinking it would be nice for the mods and texture packs part of the minecraft logged-in screen--with the splash and such--to, instead of opening one list, open two panels that can be switched between by two tabs. one tab reading texture packs or something of the sort and the other reading mods. the idea of this would be that you could easily switch mods on and off, via some sort of check-list. however i believe i've seen something like this before yet the interface only worked for a certain set of mods, but it would be excellent if you could have the mods interface work for all mods--maybe adding a new folder in the .minecraft root folder, i don't really know though.
the second vehicle idea is to have an in game gui that allows you to manipulate a polygonal shape around any blocks. once this has been done you would be able to place some sort of block or switch (maybe a crafted engine block, being crafted using a furnace surrounded by iron bars, the finished block having some sort of gear-ish texture, that then can be placed back on to the crafting bench with a switch above it) inside the polygonal area and attached to the selected bocks. the engine block, once placed on a selected block, could be right clicked in order to give the player vehicle control of the selected blocks from a third person view of the selected area. maybe somewhere along the way there would be an option for either having a flying vehicle or land vehicle. the point of this mod being to make all those airships and whatever large vehicle things come to life.
again i have no idea if either of these are possible or if they have been made before. if they have please post a link to them, i'd love to try them out. or if you yourself have made one, you're awsome and you should also post it.
