It's too long of an idea for the title, but basically:
Whenever you use invedit to get the purple portal block in your ivnentory, you can place one, but if you place another around it, or break a brick around it, it dissappears.
What i want done is someone to change the 'physics' of this block, so that it doesnt disappear when something around it changes. This would allow custom portal shapes as the individual blocks still teleport.
whats the problem? look at this: its a custom map. if they can do it, you can too.
Epic win
I'm definitely doing that tonight, and yea, you can place any amount of MCEdit, though they can only face one direction for some reason, but meh, that works too. Just base your whole world around the direction of the portal

Doesnt work
Thats why i want the physics changed so that they can be next to each other, and when soemthing gets smashed around them, they don't dissapear
I'm not sure, but you might be able to use MC Edit to place all of them without them dissapearing.
Laterz.
