2.Best to ask in the older version communities, while many do preservation of old mods there is many that make mods for older versions I think (those I'm talking about are for the beta versions specifically). Which you can find a wiki/discord for here: https://modification-station.net/.
If you mean something like 1.7.10 then sure many still make for that or 1.12.2 even so tutorials for those are still relevant even if they came out in 2015 in 1.7.10's case or later in 1.12.2's.
But for older in the beta range of versions I don't know enough about as I never used mods back then (I started in 1.4.5) and otherwise I'm not a Modder either.
Either way hopefully someone can help you but this is the best I know of besides say a Reddit with people that play on older versions that I'm just not aware of.
