Does anyone know how to move mods and play Minecraft on a external hard drive? Minecraft has been taking a lot of space on my laptop and I recently got a 1TB hard drive to move Minecraft on. I'm having a hard time trying to do this and not sure how to go about it. If someone can tell me if this is possible and tell me how that would be very helpful!!
I'd say manage your mods if possible as they take up a lot of space after a while, or put them onto a Cloud Drive like Google Drive, Dropbox for example.
But the best I've found after losing a Hard Drive is to use modpack launchers that are portable like Technic Launcher making the External Storage on USB nice for transporting or unplugging the drive once I'm done with it. Compared to something else where it if the drive isn't connecting or something else happens then issues could arise. And since I could go with a Forge or Fabric ready modpack with no mods in it you can add and remove whatever you want by using those blank modpacks as a template.
I've only gotten into trying portable modded experiences though so I can't say I have that much experience with it yet (that and I use a PC not so much a Laptop/Tablet powerful enough to use many of the things I do with mods in Minecraft and with being a Mod Spotlighter).
