I would like to know, how to see inside the game, which tool needs to be used to pick up an item and put into the inventory. I have crafted a batbox, but i have no idea, which tool I need to use for it. I have wasted one already by using a wrench according to the Wikipedia, but I dont want to waste one more batbox, so I would be glad if someone could tell me where to see this.
Supposedly, Waila Harvestability should do that, or The One Probe. However, some mods might not be written to support such detection, or those mods don't handle custom tools well - I tried both on a CESU, and the first mod didn't even show the "Effective Tool" line, and the second said "No Tool" which I know is wrong.
However, even if they got the tool right, that won't always be enough - for one thing, there are at least 12 different varieties of wrench, not even counting the differently-named ones like the crescent hammer from Thermal Foundation, and using one from the wrong mod won't always work. For another, different tech mods require different usage of the wrench - for some, you hold down the left mouse button (like mining blocks with pick or shovel), for others, you click the right mouse button, and for still others, you need to sneak+right click to pick up the machines.
That's why it's best to use either a mod like Waila harvestability/One Probe, experiment with cheating in a wrench/pick/other tool just encase (that or use a mod like Morph O Tool https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/morph-o-tool to use a universal tool/wrench or switch between to simplify things). This is why I look at tool/pick tier requirements in mod spotlights is it can be very important to know with ores or machines.
