I have tried uninstalling forge, using previous versions of launchers and other things but only removing mods is the only way it is not going to have the black screen at all. Is it the mods or is it forge? (138 mods in total)
How much memory have you allocated? Modded 1.12.2 requires more than normal (possibly 4-6G).
