I made a mod that adds a recipe for clay and I though I might post it here as I searched for a while and couldn't find a mod specifically for clay making. I made it because I was building a massive brick factory in my mod pack and needed a source of clay for bricks without having to go diving. Simply place 4 dirt into a crafting table (shapeless) and get 8 clay balls!
sure, go ahead, please post a link if you do. I am planning on an update soon as the recipe does not really make sense, I am just trying to think of a new one that does not involve water buckets as they are annoying to refill when bulk crafting. You might want to wait until I update before you do a spotlight.
Thanks, it is a cheap enough recipe yeah but I think it was fine. I do get that water buckets makes the recipe a bit tedious to make a lot, and the recipe will be more suitable than just making it then using a mod with machines or exchanging is to get more later.
You could make the recipe a mix of blocks that are accessible but not difficult to get in some biomes, like sometimes you don't find sand. I think Dirt is fine to use but maybe use Stone (was thinking Cobble then with Stone you need a furnace so it doesn't make it too cheap) or other materials that are cheap but still require a bit of effort. Maybe Leaves or some fictional/additional material, obviously you don't want too many steps or too much but you can make it as simple or bizarre as you want to get Clay.
Sure I can hold off. I might make a comparison showing both if players prefer either recipe though. As while Dirt is simple in Skyblock or a Hardcore Modpack it might be suitable as Dirt isn't always easy to get compared to say leaves in those packs.
Hello,

Here is the link to the project: https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/clay-recipe
Enjoy!
Cool mod, mind if I do a mod spotlight on it?
