Hi, I can't seem to find a crafting mod that helps with getting the recipes of different things. I tried installing NotEnoughItems and JustEnoughItems but neither of them seem to actually install for some reason.
Hi, Only Just Enough Items does this for 1.14 versions as far as I know (I update mod info on forum threads from 1.13 to 1.16 for both Forge & Fabric every 1 to 3 days and I've not found an alternative like Recipe book or other recipe/cheat in things mods besides JEI or REI between either modloaders sadly).
I myself have had this issue in 1.14.4 (in a Vanilla launcher environment more than Twitch) to the point where I've wanted to quit using Forge as JEI and other mods didn't work sometimes [had this on and off about 4 times or so, it's not common but it can be annoying] (for Forge at least, Roughly Enough Items as a JEI for Fabric, yeah there is two modloaders, there has been for years).
I don't know of an effective solution but I just updated Forge, removed all mods from the mods folder and wanted to see what mods might be making it worse (it would be either a Forge or JEI issue but you never know) and to see if the updates or removing any that might be causing it like I do with other conflicts could fix it. I'd say it's the best you got is to update Forge, use a different launcher like Twitch or GDLauncher if the Vanilla setup of Forge in your .minecraft isn't working but otherwise I don't know of a way around it on a more technical level and when I told this to mod devs they were surprised as they'd never witnessed it before (Forge modpacks or just installing it for the Vanilla launcher).
Forge 1.13 & 1.14 versions are really bad (in my opinion/experience as a mod spotlighter jumping from Forge & Fabric) due to Forge being restructed in 1.13 and 1.14 was a port of 1.13's bad state so it is kind of justified why it's not in the best shape, but 1.15 versions are much better as they worked most of those things out I assume (I've never had this problem in 1.15 with Forge yet only in 1.14.2 to 1.14.4).
So, I've just recently gotten forge 1.15 but every time i try launching it on minecraft after placing the .jar mod files in the mods folder, it seems to corrupt the launch and doesn't work.
Hmm, can you show a screenshot of your launcher, your mods folder and tell me which mods/forge 1.15 version your using, also if there is a crash report (either in the .minecraft folder or one that appears when it doesn't launch correctly that would be helpful, just a note: don't show the 'it didn't launch' one as that doesn't give enough information, try showing the log that gives more info that you can enable in the launcher's settings if you know where to look)
Otherwise make sure to have 1.15.2 only mods, 1.12.2 mods don't work on 1.15 versions and sometimes mods for 1.15.2 aren't supported for 1.15 or 1.15.1 so best to be careful.
With the screenshots or more info I can get a better idea of the issue your having.
Your welcome, it can be annoying/tricky to find mods for a single version of the game sometimes but it's just the way Minecraft modding has always been.
If you want to play 1.14.2 mods so they don't conflict with 1.15 versions I'd recommend putting a folder called 1.14.2 in your mods folder (it won't load them like it does with 1.12.2 and before) but it will avoid conflicts and you just have to move mods in and out when you want to switch better 1.14 and 1.15 versions.
What I meant was Forge used to have a feature where if you wanted multiple versions of mods you could load them in another folder. But this feature was taken out of 1.13+ versions, so only 1.12.2 and below can do it.
So if I want 1.12.2 and 1.10.2 to load up my mods but not have conflicts with them in the same folder I just put my 1.12.2 mods into a 1.12.2 inside the mods folder (.minecraft/mods/1.12.2) and my 1.10.2 mods in a 1.10.2 folder (.minecraft/mods/1.10.2), but with 1.13, 1.14 and 1.15 versions of Forge you can't do that anymore, which I find disappointing but it's fair if it might have been more effort, people may not have used it or made Forge unstable to take it out, I don't know why they did but it's not available anymore sadly. Look to the image for what I mean. Just that the way the folders are structured is the same as those in the brackets. If you want to try it out for yourself to see it work/not work go for it just be careful.
If you want to use 1.14.2 or 1.15.2 mods you'd have to move the mod files in and out of those folders as 1.13+ versions can't read files in those folders, the reason your doing this is so the mods don't conflict between if some are looking for 1.15.2 when your trying to run 1.14.2.
Magic Launcher is outdated last I heard/checked and works up until 1.6 versions of Minecraft I think. I'd recommend GDLauncher, MultiMC or Twitch it you want similar so you can create a 1.14.4 instance, download your mods and have no issues where you put them (Twitch you can download the mods from Curseforge easy via the launcher, MultiMC you still need to get the file manually like with the regular launcher and put them in the instance's mod folder) GDLauncher is like a half Twitch half MultiMC at the moment.
Otherwise make sure you have Java 64bit installed, Forge won't work without Java.
Actually now that I think about it NEI isn't for 1.14.4, only 1.12.2 and the library/API mods for it are still for 1.12.2 so if you have those best to remove them from the mods folder or put them in a 1.12.2 folder so they are out of the way.
If this got confusing just let me know. Otherwise I'd recommend some Youtube videos on how to install Forge/where to put the mods (all mods are installed the same way but 1 video should be enough to give you an idea of how to do it visually if my wording in typed form isn't clear).
So, I download it, then I click it. It turns gray, but then turns back to original color and does nothing. I don't know how to explain this through screenshots...

That must be it, I looked into my mods folder and found it was 1.14.2 mods for the 1.15 forge. Thanks!

Otherwise if you want to know of any mods that fit a similar approach to what your looking for 1.15 versions that you found on 1.14 versions I have a forum so you can tell the different what version it's for and that it's for Forge not Fabric here if you want (or see what exists for that version to find something new): https://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/mapping-and-modding-java-edition/minecraft-mods/mods-discussion/2988502-fabric-19w34a-to-1-15-2-rel-snapshot-discussion
Other than that good luck with modding the game, or ask me about anything I'm always active in the 1.14 to 1.16 mod space

So, I have to install the 1.14.2 version of forge? And would it look inside the 1.14.2 folder inside of mods?
Sorry for the confusion there.

Hopefully that makes sense.

I downloaded magic launcher for optifine recently, would that have worked?
So, I tried downloading the forge 1.14.4 but it wasn't opening the .jar file.
MultiMC download: https://multimc.org/
Twitch Launcher: https://app.twitch.tv/download
GDLauncher: https://gdevs.io/
Hmm strange, did you get the Installer file from here from the official Forge site? https://files.minecraftforge.net/maven/net/minecraftforge/forge/index_1.14.4.html
Otherwise make sure you have Java 64bit installed, Forge won't work without Java.

I tried everything, it didn't work. Java is installed and but it never opened it. It just didn't do anything.
MagicLauncher worked for me to get Optifine 1.14.4 but it doesn't work anymore.
I was using JEI.
Hmm, not sure then, I'd have to see screenshots I can't tell.
