So I'm trying to use Forge as well with Optifine, and I can't get it to work. I read that you install Forge first, then Optifine it will work but for me it still doesn't. Can anyone help me?
Otherwise did you extract optifine or just put the 1.8.9 Optifine file you downloaded into the mods folder? Obviously with Vanilla you just double click it to install; with Forge you need it in the mods folder or try extracting it then putting it in the mods folder.
What launcher are you using?
What version of 1.8.9 Forge are you using, the latest or a earlier version?
Do you have any other mods installed, if so what mods?
