I'm no mod dev but I thought the book in quest based modpacks was only going to work if it's bound to the player, so if it has the player's name, data or so it will display quests completed and load in those related.
Otherwise it shouldn't effect the screen name (I assume you mean player name, In-game name or Alias not window title for screen name right?). Either way I'd say finish the modpack first before changing anything or who the data would be bound to. Then change the name after, as access to modpacks, new worlds and so on I think should work but if not just create a new world instead or ask Mojang/Quest Mod Devs or Modpack devs if they tweaked how things work in the modpack.
Thinking about it now I don't know if you can change the name/player you want that progress to be bound to though if that player is the one you want it bound to or you changed your player name. I have no idea about this stuff I'm more so just speculating how it might work.
But I think by changing a player name is a bad idea until your finished just to be safe. (for example this I assume is why Playstation user/player name changes are particular/took forever is because of how it's setup and how the data sticks with them like credit card info, privacy settings, purchases and so on, and changing the name can be awkward if it's bound to the name rather than say the name being just a display (player name being a display I mean) and the actual bound information is to a generic/technical name like PlaystationUser200 compared to say SuntannedDuck2 (SuntannedDuck2 being the display name) so there isn't a conflict and loss of information).
Hopefully that makes sense. I'd ask a modpack dev or devs that make quest mods or modpack devs that are close to developers of mods/modloaders (like my All of Fabric example) as they all might have a different response.
Hello. This is for Mod developers or maybe someone who might have encountered this.
In a Quest based modpack if you change your screen name after you have been playing your quest book is no longer of use, As you
are no longer that person.
Is there a way to change the name in an old quest book to a new screen name to reflect all the accomplished quest's?
Bumpity Bump. Anybody got any idea of how to do this? Thanks
